I’d been using my iPad Pro 12.9 for a while and absolutely babying it until I found the case I wanted (no local stores stock cases for the 12.9, so I had to get one shipped in). A beautiful, customised case arrived a few weeks ago but… the pencil won’t charge 😩 the iPad sits in a silicone border within the case, the right side has a cutout and is thinner to support pencil charging, but it’s very hit & miss.
I’d like to keep using the case, but I don’t want to have to take it off to charge the pencil, will the Gen 2 pencils charge on something else, like say, a wireless phone charger? I couldn’t find anything on Google, but thought I should ask before giving it a go and possibly killing it 🤣

No :( but I wish it would, for the exact same reason. I had to return a Velvet Caviar case bc I wasn’t about to take the case off to charge every time.

It depends. If it have a lighting male head at the end, it’s a first gen Apple Pencil, and you can charge it by plugging it on an iPad with a lighting port. Now if it does not have any kind of port, and it’s not round all the way, it’s an Apple Pencil gen 2, and the only way to charge it, is by putting in the side of and iPad Pro 2018 or later, iPad mini 6 or iPad Air 4 or later.
