I finally went to my first car meet tonight. I got there about 15 minutes after it started and saw some really cool cars. It was fun seeing the cars but I just felt really out of place. I'm really socially awkward and everybody was in groups, so I just sort of walked around on my own for an hour looking at the cars before leaving. Sorry if this is a dumb question but what exactly do I do at car meets?

My first car meet went the same for me. And the second. And the third. And then I started asking questions about how they did what they did to their cars and it clicked for me what meets are for - shared love of cars. If you feel awkward there- look out for other people who are there alone as well. Look at their cars, ask them questions. Show them your car. Tell them your name. You’ll see them again at the next meet and you’ll have a group then - that’s how it starts. Many of us are awkward. I am too.

People I've known my whole life are in local car clubs. Whenever there's a show they let me know. Otherwise there's the regular cruise spots. Same spots they've always been since I was a kid

Hi so firstly i live in the UK, and have always been a "car guy" just never really put myself out there as one, I am currently waiting on a Scirocco R to be delivered to me and would love to get into a car scene as i now feel like i have a car remotely worthy of taking to a car meet ect.

But i am at a loss, i have no idea of how to get into it as none of my friends are car guys so have no information on how to get started.

Ask everyone you talk to at your next Cars and Coffee if there are any other meet ups in your city.. if you find that there aren’t any, then your next step is to organize one yourself. Start a Facebook group for locals in your area and get to organizing. All it takes is two cars plus yourself for it to be a meet up.

Chances are they're set up in discord servers and co-ordinated that way. Just Google Forza discords and you'll find some

Find a discord server. There’s meet and cruise and HSKMeets that I know of. I’m in Meet and Cruise and I prefer the meets there. However, HSK has many more meets daily.

Hi. I'm coming to Japan in February. Will be in Tokyo for over a week. I can't say I know much about cars, different modifications in them etc, but it's breathtaking to see this kind of cars, car meets, drift etc. I've always wanted to see Japanese driving style and car meets in person. Based on this I have a few questions. From what I understand, the most accessible place to attend a car meet is Daikoku PA. I've also heard of some UDX meetups, but it's obviously more difficult to get there. After researching Daikoku PA I have a couple of questions.

Is it still possible to get there by bus? (round trip)
Is it possible to get there by taxi? (round trip).

I don't really want to buy tours to Daikoku PA since they are $150+

P.S - I don't have an international driving licence, so renting a car is also impossible

It's currently not possible to get to Daikoku PA by bus (the gate to PA is locked). It's possible to get there by cab (around 4,000 yen ride).

It is possible to get there by cab, there are no taxis stands or buses back so you may be stranded. A tour is probably your safest bet. There’s recently been a bit of press about the problems tourists create at Daikoku PA .
