You can’t unfortunately submit id and if you have security questions you won’t have the option of waiting a week or so for recovery ... This is why people really should have their Apple ID be an email they have access to or ensure it always is an email they have access to.

No. Unless you have proof of purchase and can convince Apple you own it, it’s a brick. You can’t bypass the pass code, AppleID lock or any MDM controls your previous employer installed if that applies to this device.
