February 29, 2016How secure is the Apple Wallet when you can add anyone's card to an Apple ID?
The only way they can do that is if they had your card number, date it expires, your name, and the security code on the back. Also if you look at your bank statements Wich are mailed or emailed every 30 days you would have found it. I'm an "older person" who is a little challenged by the incredible complexity and feature rich nature of the many devices we have today. I'll be travelling in Europe in a few days and some people have suggested that using my iPhone Wallet would be advantageous. I have already entered my credit card and debit card - that was straightforward. But there is a banner on the main wallet screen that seems to suggest that I need to download a variety of apps to use the wallet for things other than payment, like airline boarding passes, tickets, etc.
I've tried doing a quick Google search but things aren't clear. Do I need to have an app installed for whatever company or organization in order to place an item in the wallet. For example, if I want to put Air Canada boarding passes in my wallet, do I need to have the Air Canada app? The same with, say, loyalty cards for my grocery store, or my health insurance card, etc, etc?

Apple Wallet comes preinstalled on the iPhones. I believe if you double click the power button, it will automatically pull up your wallet. Just tap on the card you want to use for the purchase and hold it near the card reader. The phone want to scan your face to make sure you're the one using the card, but it all happens rather simultaneously without you realizing it.

Hey there! It may seem not so straight forward, but usually you get an email with your boarding passes, or tickets right? And it usually contains a QR code right? In the wallet app, where you see the “wallet” banner that says “get” there’s also a + sign, that’ll let you scan a QR code and add either your ticket, boarding passes etc. I’m guessing some transit cards may be added the same way a debit/credit does (just tap it and done). AFAIK, app integration with wallet just gets you off the bother of opening the wallet app as it makes it more “context aware”, personally I only use the previous methods. Hope it helps, also you can add your drivers license for some states, and well, it does count as ID, lol. Wish I could store my actual ID and Passport, would be great!
