After the garage sale, I packed up the printer into its box and put it away for a few months. About a month ago I unpacked it again so my fiancée could print some labels, but when it printed there were problems. I also tried to print on normal paper and it still has this problem. The issue with inkjets for low use is the ink can dry up. So even if you get a year out of a cartridge you will have to replace it. A laser printer is a dry powder and will not just go bad, I get 6-7 years out of a toner for my black and white printer, and that’s just how long to use it up. I’m going to get a colour laser printer now that my kids are starting school, realistically I should not have to replace toner for a long time. More on reddit.com
