I bought it to use as a nightstand I have not put it together yet, but I have the 6 drawer and it only opens halfway. It's really not that big of a deal. The dresser looks very nice. I was just sad I wasn't able to get a glass top for it. Not sure where to even buy one. More on reddit.com

We bought two of these, and both of them have issues with the top drawer being extremely difficult to open/close past 2 inches. I've switched out the slides with the other drawers that work perfectly, it appears to be a drawer issue. It isn't a screw catching, and it doesn't appear to be a warped slide (I've switched all slides and drawers in every combination to try to isolate the issue).
Based on reviews it looks like this is a trend. Any ideas on a fix? I ordered soft-close slides but there is not enough of a gap for them. We live hours away from an Ikea so returning it is not a great option.

I know this is a 2-year old thread, but I had the same problem with the HEMNES night stand and just fixed the issue with the sticky top drawers. The problem is the plastic nail that attaches the side panel of the drawer to the back panel. This lower plastic nail head sticks out just enough to catch the drawer slide. I used a sander to sand down a few millimeters of the lower nail head on both sides of the drawer and it fixed the problem.
