Hi All! I recently moved into my first apartment and am searching for bed frames. The Brimnes bed with storage and headboard caught my eye.
After reading some reviews online, I saw people saying it can be hard to put together and take apart while moving. I plan on moving to another apartment when my lease is up here , so ease of disassembling is a priority. The storage on the bed is a big selling point for me. Currently it's $499 for the queen.
Has anyone else had experience with buying and assembling it? Or any have any opinions, thoughts, or suggestions with affordable bed frames with storage? TIA

I have a queen in white. I absolutely adore the headboard and the drawers hold way too much! I have blankets and stuff in them for days it's crazy how much room there is. Mine was disassembled, carried up steps out of my old apartment, carried in a moving truck to another apartment carried up 20 steps into the third floor and reassembled and it's still going strong. My movers unassembled and reassembled it and said they do it all the time - for what it's worth. It's at least 7 or 8 years old and looks brand new. Edited to add that the only problem there is with it is that your cat can go in between the headboard and the frame and down in the center between the drawers and you have to move the whole damn thing when it's time to go to the vet. So close your door before the kitties know they're taking their lives into your hands and going to the pokey place or it's a pain!

Got our king a couple months back. Not the worst ikea assembly I’ve done by far (the hemnes day bed was much more of a pain). The way it comes together is basically you build the sides and interior bracing, then attach the head and foot pieces. Headboard is completely separate It’s a nice piece of furniture and especially in black, bats above average in terms of feeling like a real piece and not cheap ikea junk In terms of moving: mostly you’ll just have to deal with the length of various pieces: the sides where the drawers slide in, the head and foot pieces, and the bracing inside. Unlike other models it does not have single huge slabs that weigh a ton, so it’s size, not weight, that will be the primary consideration. The headboard is bulky and not easy to take apart (it has a bunch of internal structure preventing it from quickly becoming 2D, you basically have to completely disassemble it) - that would be the single bulkiest thing to move

So, if you just use under-bed sized storage bins with tight fitting lids, you're stored items will be much better protected from accumulating dust than if you use open-top drawers. Plus, completely removeable bins can be swapped out for other bins, contents and all, if so desired. More on reddit.com

Hi, So trying to maximize storage space and thinking of getting a new bed that actually has drawers underneath so we can put in bed linens and clothes and such. We currently have an old ikea bed that creaks too much but the space in between we have luggage and clothes. We are able to move the luggage into a closet.
So my question is, did the drawers actually serve as good non regretful storage for you? I’ve seen posts that said they regretted it. You know drawers are too shallow or something and doesn’t serve it’s good purpose kind of thing. Or the bed is more uncomfortable or it creaks more?
And if you liked it, do you have an excellent reco? Not ikea though. More fabric based bed that’s not wooden.
Adding on: live in a small Brooklyn apt so trying to maximize space and make it still cut looking for aesthetics. Feel like storage bins doesn’t look as clean and polished? If you have an alternative please feel free to suggest. Trying to buy a new bed either way (I even contemplated a Murphy bed for space since we have a baby and a toddler but husband is against it).

Maximizing storage space in a small apartment is essential. The drawers underneath the bed is good but finding out the size and how to utilize them are a must. My kids beds have 2 narrow drawers each on one side. I don't like the drawers too much. They are mainly used for storage items that are not touched daily. On the other side is totally empty and not easily accessible (have to lift up the bed), so we put the Christmas tree and ornament there. My bed has 2 drawers on each side and they are big and wide. We were able to put towels, bed sheets and pajamas there. Space not used is space wasted. But don't use that as a reason to buy more junks though lol
