Is there somewhere I can get sample maps? Just getting started and it would be nice to be able to play with a map versus build it all from scratch. I'm looking for something like the Four Worlds map from Shannara. I saw an old post of one and that would be a great help.

Check out Matis profile :) He's a member of the team and his profile full of tutorials and ressources. You can clone most of his maps. Is Inkarnate Respected or Looked Down Upon Amongst Fantasy Cartographers?
Nothing wrong with using Inkarnate, and I have seen a few very nice maps made with it. That said, Inkarnate has a very distinctive look that is easy to recognize and as with any map made using preexisting assets, as opposed to original artwork, it will lack the the uniqueness and artistic value of an originally created professional map. Converting real maps?
I have been using the pro version for a long time, so I am not sure how much you loose by using the free version.
I often use real world locations as base for my maps. Its easy:
Find the place in Google maps.
Take a screen dump of if or use whatever method you prefer to save a digital picture of the area.
Upload it as a stamp on inkarnate and place it on your map. I usually place it at the bottom layer, but an argument can be made for placing it on the top layer.
Reduce (or rather increase) transparency as needed.
Go ahead and place you stamps and textures as needed.
When done, just remove the custom you uploaded and used as a reference.

Hey u/gronnieig There isn't a specific dungeon editor yet. But it is something we would like to see implemented in the future. In the past I have used the grid tool and add mode of the sculpt tool (grid brush) and just made my own dungeons. Will provide links below. A good map made in Inkarnate is still a good map. Do I respect Inkarnate maps? No. Do I look down on Inkarnate maps? Yeah, I kind of do. Should you care about my opinion? No.
