You can resolder a bigger chip onto it, then you'd have to do some factory level programming to initialize the chip and write config data into it, which i don't know if it is possible. · UPDATE: · It is possible now, some Chinese repair shops are offering this upgrade: · http://www.askci.com/news/chanye/2015/10... · Based on customer feedback, if all serial number/MAC addresses are rewritten properly, the phone works with no problems. However Activation Lock seems non-functional, you can successfully enable find my iPhone on it, locate it remotely, but after a DFU forced restore, the phone can just be activated again without having to reenter your apple ID. · And whether new updates or activation server changes will improve or destroy the phones are not known.

I've been rocking with a iPhone 6s since 2019, and it's served me well, but in recent years I've noticed a lot of issues re: space.
iOS seems to take the largest amount of space in the phone (7.37 GB to be exact), as well as System Data (which I can't seem to get a clear measurement of how large it is- just its big), following that is Messages (7.03 GB), and Photos (1.75 GB) everything else is under 1.7 GB. The full storage of the phone is 32 GB.
So my question is, is it normal for iOS and the system data to be as large as they are? Are there any options on what I can do to optimize storage space??
Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Yes it is expected iOS to take that much space in an older model since newest models take up to 12GB. I suggest , if able, to change to a newer iphone. Preferably to a iPhone 13 or later.

So I have the Silver iPhone 6 with 128 GB (iOS 8.0). So far I'm perfectly happy about my new phone. While I was checking my battery usage I saw the usage of my storage.
55.2 GB are used and 59.3 GB are free.
I know from the expected storage space you have to cut down a little and also you have to calculate the iOS but in total 13.5 GB are not usable. That's almost the same space iPhones with 16GB have in total.
So am I missing something or is this a normal thing for the iPhones with the bigger storage?
PS: Sorry for my English, I know it's far from being perfect :P

I have the 16 gb and I actually only have 11.8 gb available for use. So that's 4.2 gb eaten by Apple apps and whatnot. I think it is normal enough that it takes about 13 gb on the 128, considering how much more space it has. Don't worry :)
