Mine is also 88%. Seems normal to me based on what I have heard from others. Can’t wait to claim AppleCare for a new battery or unit at just before 2 years comes up. I miss that extra 10% battery. Answer from Elemenopee_cuearess on reddit.com

My iPhone battery health is 92% after 1 year
Excellent. Battery Health normally declines on average at about 1% a month, so it would be normal to expect that your battery would be at about 88% after one year.

Is 87% iPhone battery health normal after one year?
December 17, 2024 - So after 470 charge cycles, you should be at about 81% battery health, so you are ahead of your battery. Remember, your iPhone’s battery is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and they chemically age as time goes on. When your battery health reaches 80% or below, you should have the battery ...

Apple says that if your battery health drops below 80% at less than 500 charge cycles, they will replace your battery for free but the health has stuck at 86% and my battery is god awful!!
I have a suspicion that Apple has stucked my battery health at 86% on purpose so they won’t have to replace my battery for free.
Up until 86% I was losing 1-2% every month but now I haven’t lost anything in 3 months and I charge my phone twice a day.

No expert but I think you’re reading too much into this. The health of a battery and its deterioration is not linear, so when it starts you see a bigger drop then that slows into a shallower curve of deteriorating performance or storage capacity. Mine took a dive from 100 to 84 over the first year and spend about another 18 months to get to 82% And even at that the performance of the phone and battery is what I would expect from a phone and battery of this class. Maybe you have another fault?

When did you last update it ? I have heard it takes some time to update the battery health status after you update it.
