Every time that I try to get a review for a Vostro laptop I get comments that don't say anything but "Vostro is bad Lattitude is good"

Why? Can someone please explain that to me?

I'm a student and I don't have enough money to spend on Lattitude, the Vostro is in my price range and I really need a new computer.

My first dell was a vostro and I was super happy with it. Not sure if anything has changed since 2013 when I bought it. I had it for 6 years.

I have enjoyed the Dell Vostro during my last year in University, and I am wondering why many people do not recommend them?

Right now (at least where I live), you can't get Ryzen apu Vostro laptops for one thing. Students tend to do a little gaming, and although the 11th gen Intel chips have improved a lot and will give a much better experience than Intel chips from the last couple of generations, a decent Ryzen APU is still preferable. Then there is the price. Students tend to need a laptop when they need it, not to wait until the price is right. When there are not substantial savings/sales, an Equivalent Vostro can cost a lot more where I am. When there is a sale sometimes a Vostro can be worth it, but even then only if their budget is 500+ for even the best offers. Students often want something more along the lines of 3-400, which is not going to happen during a sale with a Vostro, and never even close outside of a sale.

For me it was the build quality, 10 years ago they were terrible and we really needed better quality so we chose to only go with the latitude line and pro support.

Basically just the title. I’m looking at buying the Vostro 14. I don’t plan on doing anything too crazy, mostly just photo and video editing and the Vostro looked like it would be a good entry level laptop for that. Before I buy it though I was wondering if anyone here has/has had the laptop and whether or not it will last for ~3-4 years without any major issues.

It only has a hard drive. It's gonna be dog slow at everything with only that in it. 8 GB of ram is honestly not enough these days too. With a low-end i3 and only integrated graphics, I don't have much faith that it's gonna perform all that well too. It'll work, but it won't do much more than that.
