I hear so many rumors that Intellij is specifically for Java and android app development however, I also hear that people use Intellij for another programming languages. Is that true? Is it worth to just uninstall my pycharm and install components required for python development in Intellij?
So for context, i'm posting in X about the pricing model of Jetbrains, so for example I want to use PHPstorm, Webstorm and Goland maybe also datagrip, but either I have to buy individual license or just use the 28dollars all pack which I'm reluctant because not all of them I really need. After that, maybe one of the jetbrain guys shared me this chart where i don't know that we can use Ultimate to practically all languages, I have tried it but didn't have the complete system like goland for example that I can change my go version per workspace.
My question is, anyone has try this approach?
I'm a big fan of Jetbrains products, and actively use WebStorm for frontend and PyCharm for Python.
Currently, I started getting into Java, and there's no question what IDE to use, however, it's a bit pricey to use them all. I read in official JetBrains documentation, you can use any lightweight IDEs (like PyCharm and WebStorm) as IDEA plugins, and it could be really convenient setup for me, having all of the development environments within one IDE.
Therefore, I have a question to those who already use the same setup - is it really the same user experience to use a separate IDE and IDEA plugin? There are different hotkeys in different IDEs, and after all, IDEA is considerably heavier.
