I grew up in a family that was drowning in credit card debt and the unforgiving int rates, fees and all of that, which is why I stay tf away from credit cards. I’m 21 and a bunch of banks send me in the mail the option to apply for a credit card with them but I always ignore them.
At the checkout at JCPenney, the cashier said something about a 35% discount and I told her why not. My mind was somewhere entirely and it came back to reality when she gave me my receipt even tho I never made a payment so I asked why and she told me that I now have a 1.5k credit card limit at JCPENNEY.
Now I’m wondering if this card works the same way as BOA CD does where if you pay a minimum amount each month, you won’t get charge any fees. I usually pay in full each month but I forgot to do it once and they charged me. Idk much about how credit cards work tho. I have a 788 FICO score but I don’t what tf it means or what I can do with it.
I got the credit card 2 weeks ago or so, and I have no idea how to log in to pay for it. As far as I’m concerned this card didn’t come with a card number, or it has a misprint. It only has 18 digits and it’s formatted like:
XXXX-XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX-X-X
And the website requires 19 digits. Help pls
Alright, entirely my fault, I know, but this old lady told me I could save up money on today's purchase if I sign up for a card.. I didn't realize it'd be a credit card.
First of all not even sure like? What to do? I don't want this card. I don't even shop at JcPenny and I don't have a full time job yet/haven't worked a full year so I don't know my income and she told me to put 5000 and I got approved for $1500.
I got mid shoes for 25 dollars now but now what? I'm an 18 year old college student. Don't wanna pay monthly fees for this card... should I cancel it? Or would it hurt my score?
