Why is American girl sticking to this hippie ish Halloween costume for Julie and what’s up with these journals are they getting rid of the books, I thought they were going to give her original outfit and Accessories and book but it seems American girl is still in a identity crisis but I’m loving the jumpsuit and school outfit and like their going back to their roots somewhat

If i'm not mistaken, Julie wasn't "re-released". She has been in stock on line and in stores in this outfit the whole time. She got some new release items (both brand new and some re-release) but the doll herself was not a new release. Julie is said to be one of the best selling dolls in recent years. Kirsten, Addy and Josephina are brand new releases, back into their original clothes. It's confusing because it all dropped on the same day, but I believe these are meant to be two "separate" events.

I am a little disappointed that they didn't give us her birthday dress and that they "teased" her original meet outfit but didn't actually give it to us as an option. I appreciate what they did but I really wanted her birthday dress and they released the other 3 girls with birthday outfits but not hers?

I’m buying a Christmas gift for a friend and know nothing about American Girl. I saw this listing for a Julie (his favorite) but the seller wasn’t sure the year or any info. So I’m asking y’all! Could you give me any info? Is it a good doll? Thanks!

If you're looking for a secondhand doll to gift to someone, you'll likely want to look for a doll that has minimal to no markings on the face, body and limbs, and whose hair is not a complete wreck (tangled can be brushed out with a wire brush but sometimes dry or knotted hair can be harder to fix). You'll want eyes that open and close well and aren't lopsided from broken pegs inside. It's hard to tell much about this doll from one clothed picture but she might be in decent shape.

If Julie is his favorite, there may be a choice to make: Julie (favorite), or PC—Kirsten, Samantha, Molly, Felicity, Addy, or Josefina. It’s possible that when he says “original PC Julie” he may mean “pre-BeForever Julie with original meet outfit.” Maybe you can subtly feel him out to clarify. Julie has been a very popular doll since her introduction, and is widely available in the secondary market (eBay, Mercari, etc.) in a variety of conditions. Based on posts in this forum, you should be able to find a naked Julie in good condition for less than $50 (possibly significantly less). Her original meet outfit is also available on the secondary market; a Julie wearing her original meet outfit shouldn’t be hard to find.
