"Jurassic World: Dominion" A-List pocket Review (IMAX)
The biggest issue was we were bait and switched. The trailers made it look like the movie was going to be about dinosaurs in the wild and how we would have to adjust. It literally wrote itself, instead we got a movie where giant locust are just as big of a focus if not bigger than the dinosaurs themselves, like wtf. Jeff goldblum carried this film. I liked it better than fallen kingdom but the first one is still miles clear as the best.

So I decided to see the new "Jurassic" movie, in IMAX, today as my first A-List selection of the week.
There are a few good things about "Jurassic World - Dominion". One is that it is fully in IMAX, start to finish it fills up the whole IMAX screen top to bottom. Another is that it has some of the old cast members from the original 1993 film. And it has the fetching redhead Bryce Dallas Howard, whose face I like to look at.
Unfortunately, though, "JWD" is a bad movie. It's just no good. Nothing about it works. For one thing, the dinosaurs are everywhere, they've spread throughout the world, so there is nothing magical about seeing them. In the far-and-away two best "Jurassic" movies, the original film and 2015's "Jurassic World", the dinosaurs are confined to a park, so there is a special sense of place and seeing them. That's absent here. And what is the main attraction of the "J" movies but the dinosaurs? They are woefully overexposed here.
Even worse, the film is a mess. The main characters are in almost constant peril for the entire 136 minutes of film time. This means there is no drama, no build-up or tension or release. The characters just stepping from one buzzsaw situation to the next, and yet you know that how ever implausible their escape will be, escape they will otherwise there is no movie.
Overall, I found "JWD" to be a dull assault on the senses. I know you're going to see it anyway, heck probably have or are as I type this. But I feel compelled to warn you, it's bad.
D+ ....... Not good at all.

Yeah this movie is horrendous. The franchise is 100% unrecognizable from what it once was.
