The fake plant hate is so silly like, we're all just trying to have nice spaces without the stress! Your Bird of Paradise choice looks gorgeous btw. For building up that jungle vibe, bamboo adds such a different texture compared to broad-leaf plants. Something like this bamboo could work well it's got that natural wood trunk and comes pre-assembled so you just need to fluff the leaves. The branches are adjustable so you can shape it to look more natural, and at 5ft it'd give you good height variation next to your Bird of Paradise. One heads up though some people mention the small black pot it comes with looks a bit cheap, so you might want to budget for a nicer planter. But that's pretty standard with most fake plants anyway. For smaller accent pieces, I've seen people have good luck with fake fiddle leaf figs or even some trailing plants on shelves to fill in the gaps. The key is mixing different leaf shapes and heights so it doesn't look too matchy-matchy. What's your color scheme like? That might help narrow down what other "plants" would work best in your space.
