You may not want to wait, but Nanoleaf announced at the Matter launch that they will be offering a thread-based BR30 (Flood) bulb in January or February. I have weird stuff with my Hue bulbs, when run via HomeKit, so I’ll be patient and wait for the Nanoleaf bulbs. I’m pretty happy with their regular bulbs. More on reddit.com

Try 3000K at first. It will be like a superheated "photo" lightbulb. Refreshingly white. I wouldn't go back to dim brown conventional lighting. 2700K aims recreate normal mains voltage lightbulb but often has an unpleasant yellow tint. 4000K is approximately a sunny day, good for mixed natural and artificial lighting. You will see the differences if you walk from one room to another with different light, but over time get used to whatever you have. Well, videos have a white balance and can't reproduce all colors with just 3 primaries. The difference between the two is the radiation pattern. The one with the yellow sticks will shine mostly to its sides. And the white globe will shine mostly away from the base. The tilt of the sticks gives more light in the away direction. But if they are tilted only slight, you will still get a dark spot.
