Looking to buy a cap for my short bed ‘19 Off Road, mostly for security but more than likely going to sleep/camp back there at some point.
Generally speaking between the two companies what do you prefer and why?

I'm looking to get a topper for my 2022 DCLB. Would be using it occasionally for car camping but otherwise want the extra security and space that a hard shell gives over and soft shell or bed topper respectively. Was recommended the Leer 100xq sport by the shop, but that's the most expensive option. Anyone have any experience with the various Leer or ARE toppers or other brands? Not looking to drop almost $5k on a smart cap anymore since I don't really need the over landing capability it grants. Thanks in advance!
Been debating about getting the leer 100r series or ARE series V cap for my 3rd gen 5’ bed. Both are very similar price. Does anyone have experiences with either or recommendations?
I can choose one of these options: Leer 100R, 100XR, 100XL, or 100XQ.
I’m going to be honest, I don’t see or understand what the differences are lol. On top of that, there’s all these extra options to add (see below). I don’t know a thing about toppers since I’ve never owned one. Any of these important to include?
Front Sliding Window: $95
Removable Front Sliding Window: $160
Carpeted Headliner: $195
Screen Protectors: $95 per side
Keyless Entry: $350
12 Vt Power Block (3 auxiliary outlets): $160
Roof Tracks Only: $260
Roof Rack-Thule Tracker II: $570
Cargo Hooks (using bolts from roof tracks): $45- $95
Gear Net (need roof tracks as well): $70
Additional Roof Options available, please mention if interested
Hey there, I own a 2022 SR Tacoma and I want a bed topper. I've found a slightly used Century for $1800 locally in the color of my truck, not sure how good those caps are. The alternative would be to keep hunting for an ARE or Leer. I always thought Leer was the best, but wondering what you all think. My budget is around $2500. I'd love to get one with a carpeted top liner and pet screens for my dogs. I thought about a folding-up one, but I live in Michigan and my car sits outside year-round, I wouldn't want the snow to ruin it.
Trying to decide on going the used or new route for a camper shell. There is a used 100R a few hours away from me that is the same color as my truck, sliding windows and roof rack option installed. The guy selling it has been a little hard to deal with and doesn’t seem sure if he actually wants to sell.
I’m also looking at a new 100XR with windoors and the roof rack option included but it is more than double the price of the used 100R I’m looking at. Price isn’t out of my budget but it’s definitely something to consider due to the difference between the two.
Just looking for some opinions on which route you guys would go. Obviously if the guy ends up not wanting to sell me his used one, I will go new route but is it worth it to keep pursuing the used? My understanding is that the warranty is only good to the original owner as well.
Anyone able to gut check me on this?
Local Dealers are telling me this will cost $3,800 OTD. I feel like this is absurdly expensive.
I'm based in Northern California. I've requested an estimate from a dealer in Nevada to compare.
