You’re going to want a miter saw to make all the repetitive cuts. I wouldn’t use a table saw, I’d use a circular saw if not a miter. — Ensure you use a piece of scrap to tap in each piece, I’ve seen people hammer right on the lip and ruin pieces before learning the hard way. I don’t remember what they’re called, but get the $8 or so tool that you hook on the last piece of the run and can tap the bottom with your hammer to get the last piece in tight, it’s usually located next to the tapping blocks they sell in the flooring department. (I. Can link a pic of mine if needed at a later time). Use a white mallet (rather than black) so you don’t mar your new floors. GET KNEE PADS! Depending on what your laying your floor on top of, your new flooring may be tough to fit under your door trim, easiest way is to nip the bottom of the trim with an oscillating tool. Ensure you’re staggering your seams with each piece, there’s nothing worse than seeing all the seams in a line. Oh yeah and GET KNEE PADS! I’m no expert, but I did 2 rooms at my house this year and they turned out great, once you get a system down it starts to fly. I had help with the first room, then did the second myself in 2 nights a couple hours each. Edit: I redid my bathroom at the same time and put the vanity on top of the new flooring. I really like the look of the floor but I've never worked with click-lock flooring before. Do you need a table saw with a finish blade? Jig saw? Can you install it under the vanity? Thanks all!

I used a speed square and a utility knife for cutting ends and full length rip cuts. I used a oscillating multi tool and knife for notching. I have both a table and miter saw, but didn't see much need for either of them. Score and snap worked well for me, just make sure you score it deep and then snap it over your knee or some other fulcrum.

Thoughts on the LifeProof LVP flooring at Home Depot? The 22 mil wear layer is appealing. Is there a catch?
I have it. Install was fine, and it's held up great in two years. Not sure what I paid for it but I'm happy with it. More on reddit.com

Alternatives to 22 Mil Lifeproof?
You been hoodwinked…anything 12mil wear layer and thicker is more than adequate for residential traffic. To be clear, and sweet Jesus this is like the 5th post this month saying ‘what thickness wear layer should I get?’ wear layer thickness ONLY describes who long the wear layer will remain under regular foot traffic(think clean shoes going up and down.). It does NOT tell you how scuff, scratch and dent resistant your floor will be. A 22mil wear layer will scratch from a dragged furniture leg just as easily as a 12mil. The only reason wear layer is marketed so heavily is because manufacturers know consumers like warm and fuzzy numbers that makes them think they’re actually making an informed choice without getting any actual education on the product. So they’re in a pissing match to put as thick a wear layer as possible on their floors at as low a price…at the expense of milling. Life proof and all big box private lines are a gamble…each model comes from a different factory, some who turn out a decent plank and some that will churn out non square bullshit. No way of knowing. You’re not going to get a guaranteed quality product shopping the big boxes, floor & decor or ll flooring. If their price points are what you’re willing to spend and no more, then get what you like the look of, they’re all gambles. If you can spend more, then look to independent and regional dealers…name brands like mannington, Karndean, shaw and Coretec put out consistently excellent goods that are milled properly. Most of them have that fancy wear layer too…they aren’t immune to the feeding frenzy bullshit over thick wear layers that only mean anything in commercial applications. More on reddit.com

I install flooring for a living. You could try again after making sure there’s no debris in/on either tongue/groove. That being said, this is my typical experience with LifeProof and other inexpensive products. More on reddit.com
