This Foldable Stool Makes Travel More Accessible
October 15, 2024 - I am not the only person whose travel plans were saved by this stool. Many travelers praise how lightweight and versatile it is, while one Amazon reviewer marveled at how it was “so convenient and portable.” They explained, “You can take it everywhere. Great for parades, concerts, festivals, or any place without a seat.” · Another reviewer used it for other activities like sitting in long convention lines and watching fireworks displays. They observed that it was “easy to set up and collapse” and praised the “handy strap” for slinging over their shoulder.

Whatever you decide to go with, check in with disability services. They are there to help you make your con more manageable. Dragoncon is a lot of physical activity, I wager much more than many of us get on a regular basis, and there’s nothing wrong with using physical aids to help conserve your energy so you can see and do more. Foldable Seat
I've been using this collapsible stool that is economical, lightweight, easy to transport and adjustable. It gets me low to the ground. The ability to jump down immediately into a face down position, as I have seen Steve do in more than one of his videos, is no longer in my wheelhouse. More on bcgforums.com

Lightweight tripod stools: which do you recommend?
I've been wildly impressed with my Swedish Walkstool, they are rated for like 600 pounds and I can get one where I'm not sitting right off the ground. Very light and the legs telescope out like a camera tripod. They also make an attachment for the legs in case the ground is soft so the legs don't sink in. http://www.walkstool.com More on reddit.com

June 9, 2017 - Be sure to have him test the stool for seat height and stability before buying. If you have an REI store go there to look at and “test sit” some other options. They have lots of light weight camp chairs that fold and unfold into very small packages. Helinox is one brand but there are many “knock off” copies out there and much cheaper.

May 5, 2025 - My attention has been drawn to this and similar seats - e.g. for people who need to sit down often: https://www.robertdyas.co.uk/summit...EmK5UDQMAqiygW4szVTvrQE1rFFzLX6QaAmxlEALw_wcB Also, rather heavier, and probably only suitable for indoors: https://www.paperlounge.co.uk/collections/stools I don't know if anyone has had any experience with either of them? They might be useful for carrying around if you need to get off your feet. ... Click to expand... I know someone who carries that first type so that he's got somewhere to sit during long bird migration observations. They're good—lightweight, more stable than some portable stools, and the absence of narrow pointy legs means they don't sink into soft ground.

January 27, 2024 - home.woot.com pheumatic, so easily height adjustable, these are schock absorbing to a degree high end regular drum thrones are stronger, foldable, nice seats, often pneumatic, but are shorter than drafting stools, though often a bit higher that typical office chairs, and no casters · Click to expand... November 13, 2017 - It will hold it, but you have to place on the stool carefully. Ended up getting the Coleman Rambler... absolutely can't beat it for the price. Holds my bag better and is more comfortable when I actually sit on it. Lightweight aluminum, folds flat for easy packing.

Stool for outdoor jams or banjo camp - Discussion Forums - Banjo Hangout
March 27, 2019 - A couple of years ago i bought a collapsable camping stool from REI Camping! It is a tri-pod style that has the same material as regular folding chairs and it is about 2 feet high and weighs less than 2 lbs! Folds up like a small camera tripod! I bought it for roaming around the Appalachian that i've played for the last 5 years, and its a great comfort to me, i just bungie it around my banjo, and when i need it, i use it!

July 24, 2024 -

Can I get some recommendations for a portable and foldable stool? Preferably one that could fit in a backpack but doesn’t have my knees hitting my chest. And won’t break my bank. I had a really bad time at con last year health-wise and while I honestly think a rollator would probably be best for me as far as ease of being able to sit down goes, my pride isn’t ready to make that jump (plus. the crowds…). So I’m looking for a stool. Tips and advice appreciated.
