I am wanting to buy a mattress topper. I am debating between the brands Lucid or Sleep innovation. Mainly because of price!
Has anyone ever used these before? What was your experience? Or does anyone have any affordable recommendations?
What the hell!? I just got my mattress topper from Amazon today and found not only a dried up dead fly, other unidentifiable dead insects, but LIVE BED BUGS! I had to throw away an expensive bed sheet then sprayed my entire bed down with permethrin.
Lucid shouldn't be in business!

I just got it and it’s plumping up overnight; does anyone have this & if so, what’s your feedback on it?
Any thoughts on this foam mattress topper? Just purchased because I needed something temporary, affordable, and within prime one day as my current air mattress is deflating and I have an oddly shaped loft space.
Thank you!!
My roommate and a friend have a cheap Amazon mattress + foam topper combo that I also found comfortable and would like to get. I am thinking of splurging on a nicer topper than they did; I am torn between the lucid 4” gel memory foam topper and the sleep on latex pure green natural latex 3” topper.
I was also looking at the saatva graphite mattress topper, so if it’s good I’d like to hear your thoughts.
I am a 5’11” 200lb side sleeper and have never chosen my own mattress before so I have analysis paralysis. I live in a very hot and humid climate so I’d like something that can keep me relatively cool. Any advice would be nice!
TLDR: Firm mattress makes my shoulders hurt from pressure, but all the toppers I've tried are too soft. What to do? My 2" topper is too much, and most thinner ones have terrible reviews.
The mattress is a Nectar Premier. I used to have a different Nectar Premier that felt pretty good, but this one seems harder. Without a topper, my shoulder hurts a lot from pressure. I'm using a 2" Lucid topper, and it was great (albeit a bit thicker than necessary) at first. But after two months of use, it collapsed in the middle, and I've sometimes woken up with neck pain that lasts for days because I'm sleeping in a pit. A thicker topper left me with back pain.
If I had a mattress topper that was half as thick and didn't collapse, that would be great. I'm 5'2", female, and 110-115 pounds, and I sleep on my side. I'm bottom-heavy and in an ideal world I'd have more firmness under my hips and more pressure relief under my shoulders, but a regular old mattress topper would be fine.
I chatted with them because I wanted to know if their mattresses have fiberglass (I’d rather avoid the stuff). They literally refuse to answer the question. The only conclusion I can come up with is that they are intentionally trying to deceive people. Just be careful with a company like that.

My girlfriend and I have been looking around for a mattress topper and we can't decide on what is the best for the price as well as what will last the longest. Do any of you have experience with certain brands? So far these are what we have found
| Mattress | Price |
|---|---|
| Lucid Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress | $72.99 |
| Twin Size 3 Inch Thick Memory Foam Mattress Topper | $94.35 |
| Carpenter Memory Foam Twin Mattress Topper | $30.27 |
| Sleep Master 2-Inch Gel Memory Foam Topper | $54.99 |
In case it isn't obvious I am looking for a twin size one and these are the ones I have found within my price range. Are any of them worth the extra cash for their quality and are there any better options out there as far as price to quality ratio goes?
Hey folks,
Lately, my mattress and I have been at odds, prompting me to consider the idea of investing in the best mattress topper I can find before splurging on a brand-new mattress. I've come across quite a few praises about how a good mattress topper can revamp the comfort level of an existing mattress.
I'm eyeing a topper that strikes a nice balance between being cushy and supportive, particularly for my back. My budget is capped at around $200, but I'm open to exceeding it a tad if the topper is a standout.
I’ve heard some good things about the Tempur-Pedic, Lucid, and Linenspa brands. Anyone has experience with these or any other brands you'd recommend?
Also, an easy-to-clean and maintain topper is high on my wishlist. And if there are certain materials or brands known for their durability and comfort, I'm all ears.
I'm all set to dive into the suggestions from this savvy community.
Thanks a ton in advance!
Hi guys! So I've settled down on Lucid mattress with 2 inch talalay topper.
The only thing I haven't decided yet is the firmness of the mattress - I'm wondering if it should be a firm or a medium one.
So basically, 6 inch firm gel memory Lucid mattress with soft 2 inch talalay topper
or
10 inch medium gel memory Lucid mattress with soft 2 inch talalay topper
What are your thoughts and have you had experience with similar set ups?
I bought the Lucid gel-infused, ventilated 2” mattress topper on Amazon. It has small holes all over it which is what provides the ventilation. Is this enough to not ruin the cooling features of my mattress?
I woke up yesterday with a very stiff neck and I suspect my firm mattress is to blame. I also purchased a cervical support memory foam pillow, so hopefully that helps.
Edit: I exchanged the 2” for the 3” Lucid topper. It’s awesome! It does get a little warm but not bad. The true test will be a heat wave. It’s so comfortable though. I do worry that it’s too plush to provide proper support but the mattress is just way too firm.
Hey guys! i just ordered a Lucid Gel Memory Foam mattress topper for my twinXL dorm bed and i saw in the box a sheet that says “place the topper on a flat surface in a well-ventilated room and allow 48 hours for expansion.” However, the mattress topper seems to have covered my whole bed and then some, so i was wondering if its worth waiting two days just to use the topper?
Hey , I recently bought the lucid 3 inch mattress topper for my college apartment. Initially the topper was comfortable for me but then I started noticing that I would wake up with knee pain/ discomfort and with some neck pain.
I believe the topper is the the culprit here, as my discomfort would go away if I got rid of the topper from my mattress or when I go home and sleep on my bed there, I have no discomfort in the morning. I've also kind of decided that the 3 inch topper was too soft for me.
What do yall recommend? I would still like some cushion for my apartment bed, so I was thinking of getting a 1.5 inch topper instead
i’m 19, like 125 pounds, and i have a memory foam mattress. i have so much pain everywhere all of the time. i’m so sick of it and i need something better. i can’t afford a new mattress, so i’m trying to make things better with a mattress topper. do y’all have a favorite? im a side sleeper. idk what my current mattress is like but when i sit on it i can usually feel the bars of my bed underneath me. like if i look for it. idk if it’s bad that i can even feel them in the first place.
any recs? i have about 100 bucks i can spend on this at max. thanks guys!
Recently I’ve moved away for college and live in an apartment that came with its own mattress. The mattress is awful, it’s extremely worn, slumps down in the middle where I can feel springs, and overall feels like sleeping on reinforced cardboard. I am a side sleeper and it hurts all of my pressure points like my shoulder, pelvis and knees. I bought a 3 inch memory foam mattress topper from Lucid off of Amazon and initially I was excited to sleep on it, but after the first night I noticed that my hips tend to sink deeply into it and it puts my back out of alignment, even when I sleep on my side and I woke up with lower back pain.
Is there any way to help with this? Should I continue to use this mattress topper? What toppers do you guys think are most ideal for my situation? (I don’t want a new mattress as it would make moving out in 4 months really annoying and I have nowhere to store the old mattress as I can’t throw it out)
TLDR: need a good mattress topper for worn, hard mattress that still provides back support.
We bought a medium Lucid mattress 10" and it's too soft. It's been giving us back pain and hip pain. What's our best option for a topper that will make our bed more firm? So many I'm seeing are meant to make already firm beds more plush. I want the opposite! We are both 5'5" and between 180-210lbs. Ideally looking to spend $300 or less.
Alas- After a bit more research, I'm seeing that a firm topper might not help a too soft mattress.

I have been waking up the past two weeks with back pain every day. We have just switched mattresses and I believe this is the culprit. I am a back sleeper who loves the feeling of sleeping on a cloud, but needs the support. Anyone have any experienced with the above products?? Any you’d steer clear of? Thank you!!
I’m old and I forgot you are not supposed to remove the cover. When my grandson peed on it I wanted to wash it. When I opened it up it was in what looked like a linen bag. Could be what they are calling a rayon sleeve. But the tag says do not remove the mattress cover I swear if I had saw a bear mattresses that would have triggered my memory to not remove it. It wasn’t tell later that I remember. I haven’t seen any fiber glass I used a flashlight in the dark to check. Do you think I’m in the clear? Why would they label it do not remove if there is not fiberglass? Is there something besides my memory that I should worry about? I bought it on Amazon in 12/22 is a Lucid
