I like to explore the more indy fashion magazines you can buy at book stores (at least that’s where they are sold where I live). Currently I have been enjoying The Gentle Woman, Dazed & Confused, Heroine, Violet and Hunger. Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar are not bad by definition but there they are bit too formulaic for me. Real Simple is surprisingly good for this. It’s more so lifestyle (exercise, decor, cooking, organizing, social interaction tips, book recommendations, etc.) than only makeup and clothing but it does usually include a small spread on outfit and makeup ideas for the upcoming season. As someone who was also on the hunt for an adult replacement to those magazines, I have fully enjoyed subscribing to RS for over 2 years. More on reddit.com

I’m turning 33 this Summer, and after some thought about what I’d like my fiancé to gift me, I came across a tiktok about magazines we used to read in our teens. Seventeen, Elle, Teen Vogue, etc. I just loved getting physical copies in the mail when I was a teenager, so I figure it’ll be a nice way to get a little whimsy in my life lol
I’m thinking of getting a year subscription to a magazine, but I’m not sure what’s good anymore. I love great photography, especially fashion, I love a good story, and I don’t mind the horoscopes or beauty tips I think they’re fun. I like indie publications, or the “mainstream” magazines. I just want something that’s not majority advertisements, and is fun to look through and read!
