Looking for an excuse to visit family in San Francisco and I love live music. I know about outside lands but is there other festivals that are smaller but still worth the trip? I like indie, rock, rap, and folk/country. I don’t really like edm. Thanks!

Hardly Strictly in early October hits the indie/folk/country target, and best of all, it's FREE! It's not smaller than Outside Lands, but much more eclectic. The Stern Grove Festival is another free event, although you now need a reservation due to its popularity. It's held every Sunday during the summer.
