cheap percale can feel terrible. We have both Giza and Finna and I feel Finna is the lowest to go on Sferra line for percale. Good discount around Thanksgiving to Christmas from Bloomingdale's. Answer from vapour2020 on reddit.com

Please forgive me for what I am about to say. I know it’s wrong and shameful.

MyPillow Giza Dreams sheets are the best sheet set you can buy for under $100. Someone gave me a set and I turned my nose up at them and sent them to my Airbnb. Jokes on me because they’re my favorite Airbnb sheets. They don’t wrinkle. They’re nice and crisp but silky out of the dryer.

I said what I said. 🤷🏼‍♀️

June 22, 2025 - The percale and the bamboo. Continue this thread ... Nope. Don’t buy anything from that company. You can get so many better products pretty much anywhere else. ... They are great sheets! They never pill and they wash up fantastic. Not overly thin, very comparable to the hotel collection.I only use cotton wash on my sheets and occasionally baking soda.I have never had a problem with my pillow giza sheets. It sounds like people are putting their political views over affordability and comfort.

r/Bedding on Reddit: St Geneve Giza 45 Sateen sheets vs others sheets?
October 5, 2023 -

I'm currently eyeing the St Geneve Giza 45 sateen sheets and I'm trying to compare them with other luxury bedding brands like from Sferra, Matouk or Frette. I’m curious about the Sferra and Frette Giza line since they seem comparable but are much more expensive than the St Geneve sheets. There’s also the Matouk Gatsby line that is percale cotton that seems great as well. In addition, I’m unsure if their slightly lower offering (Sferra Milos and Frette 600TC sateen sheets, Matouk Nocturne) is comparable to the St Geneve Giza 45.

I'm unfortunately only able to get swatches for the Sferra Giza and St geneve Giza so I’m not able to compare them all well. If anyone has tried the St Geneve Giza and compared them to the others or found something better, can you let me know?.

Now, I want to preface by saying that I haven't tried St Geneve's offerings since my local linen shop doesn't have them, nor Frette, but I can say that Sferra's Giza 45s are above and beyond pretty much anything most brands have as their 'premiere' top-shelf lines. There's just no comparison. At all. Matouk's Gatsby is nice but not as nice as you'd want at that price and pretty much all other brands that I tried with comparison to Sferra Giza 45s just could never compare or stand out as much as they did. Now, I've heard that Frette comes darn close to it with their Ultimate set, but I think even that brand falls just a tiny bit short of Sferra. St Geneve is not a bad brand and they're definitely a pretty primo one, but I think of them kind of like a Peacock Alley but perhaps a tad nicer. That's kind of how much of their products are like, and they definitely have more price-value offerings than most luxury brands, but their stuff never seems to be at the same level as the upper-level brands like Frette and Sferra---it's more about affordable luxury, if that makes sense. All of the brands and their models that you've listed are amazing for luxury bedding, but if you want top-shelf stuff I'd stick with the Sferra Giza 45s. The top one is the Giza 45 Luxe but it's insanely expensive and not for the faint of heart (or the working poor). The Giza 45 percale is the softest percale on the planet, but it definitely is pretty thin, so that turns off a lot of people. If you want a thicker sheet the Sereno would do pretty damn well for you for a heavier (but super-soft) percale, and if you want a more budget pick the Finna is pretty awesome overall but it won't come close to how soft the previous percale options are. For sateen the Giza 45 Luxe and the Sateen are A++ in terms of softness and are as good as you can get, with the Luxe being heavier and softer (I believe) and the Sateen much lighter but still unnaturally soft; the Milos, likewise, is the sateen version of the Sereno in that it's a much heavier and super-soft set, with the Giotto as a pretty decent budget pick for sateen. I'm unsure how most of the brands you listed compare to the Giza 45s from St Geneve, but I would expect that the Giza 45 from St Geneve would be comparable (hopefully), though it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Milos from Sferra is softer/better than St Geneve's highest offering Giza 45. The Sferra's are just that good and, for me at least, managed to eclipse all of the comparable luxury brands next to it, even their highest offerings. It's pretty insane (they must have an exclusive contract with the best Giza cotton growers in the Nile River Valley because something is in their sauce that nobody can match, short of perhaps Frette). Hopefully this helps you out, and while I have no doubt that St Geneve makes great stuff for the most part, their focus is mostly getting value for price rather than the highest quality that can be achieved on this earth. That's at least my observations of it from other users and their thoughts about it/impressions. If you have any more questions then feel free to ask---I'll do my best to help you out! :) And shoutout to u/Just-Another-007 for tagging me :) I appreciate it!

I haven’t tried the St Geneve Giza, but I have the st Geneve avorio pillowcases and they’re lovely (but they are silk). I love the Sferra Giza sateen. We also have the Finna, which is nice, but I prefer the Giza sateen. I haven’t had the chance to try the Matouk gatsby, but I’ve heard good things. I don’t know anything about frette, sorry!! u/SorcererLeotard is usually brilliant on all things bedding… 😁

Comparing My Pillow Percale and Giza Sheets: Which is the Better Option? | SoffiPillows
Both are durable and long-lasting, but Giza cotton is known for its superior quality and softness, which may make it more resistant to wear and tear over time. My Pillow Percale sheets are designed to be breathable and cool, thanks to their crisp and lightweight feel.

r/Bedding on Reddit: My comparison of a few percales from roughest to smoothest
June 12, 2024 -

I needed to see for myself so I got all of these to see what they actually feel like. Here they are in order from roughest to smoothest... prices for comparison are all for Queen sheet set.

6. LL BEAN ORGANIC PERCALE $179, currently on sale for $149 - these are rough. There's something about them I kind of like. They are just so stiff and hardy, giving them a somewhat admirable character.

5. COMPANY STORE ORGANIC CLASSIC COOL PERCALE $199, currently on sale for $139 - these felt the thickest of all the ones listed here, even though they were a pretty standard 300TC. I liked the thickness, but they still had slightly more texture than I prefer.

4. LL BEAN EGYPTIAN PERCALE $259.00 - these were tempting, but when I lay my cheek to them, still a bit more texture than I would like for the price point.

3. LL BEAN SUPIMA PERCALE $169.00 (made in China :/ ) - these have a lot of slip to them, almost as if they were coated. But when I look up close at the weave it seems different than the others, even though it is supposed to be percale and the feel makes sense when you see the weave pattern.

2. COMPANY STORE CLASSIC COOL PERCALE $149, currently on sale for $104

  1. PIMA PERU 415TC (very smooth) - $149 These were the smoothest and noticeably cool to the touch every time I picked them up. They also felt nearly as thick as the Company Store Organic classic cool. Ultimately this is what I kept because of the combination of pliability, smoothness, thickness and price point. I think they will be pretty wrinkly. We'll see how they hold up!

I HOPE YOU ALL FIND THIS MORE HELPFUL than the standard and completely un-descriptive "I love my sheets" and "these are the best" reviews.

UPDATE: I washed the Pima Peru and all the silkiness is gone. lol. SO LAME. It’s still a really nice sheet - now basically on par with the Company Store Organic in terms of thickness and the CP Classic Cool in terms of feel and coldness. Whaddyagonnado 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for your helpful review of different sheet sets :) Much appreciated! As for your results, I definitely am not surprised at all by some of them! I've come to find that almost all organic sheet sets are rough compared to most other cottons, especially when compared to ELS cottons (like Supima). Organic cottons usually max out at long staple and have a much rougher overall texture, imo. It also makes sense that the Pima Peru set would be the softest as it's a pima and it has the highest thread count compared to the other options. I'm actually curious, but did you wash any of them or did you just go by hand-feel out of the package before sending them back? A lot of times the finishing helps contribute to the softness and will be washed out after a few washes, which will heavily skew results in the long-term. This can sometimes lead to some sets which start out as 'the softest' being the roughest in the long-term, as an example. Either way, thanks for the review :)

I know this is an older post but I thought I’d check in with you and see if they’ve improved with washing. I’m in the same boat as you and have purchased way too many pillow cases to wash and test, including St Geneve Giza 45 and Frette. I haven’t tried the Sferra Giza 45 yet because while the St. Geneve are smooth and luxurious they aren’t crisp and are fairly thin. I purchased the Frette and they eventually became very soft but never smooth and only slightly crisp. So I’m still looking for that similar finish that I had back with the Wamsutta supercale. I actually had an old Costco Kirkland set they were labeled sateen but felt very close to the cool, crisp, smooth old school sheets but when I repurchased they weren’t the same. I’m currently using The Good Sheet from Australia. They are very thick and similar to Frette but sadly not as smooth as I’d like. Have the Pima Peru become smoother with more washing?

r/Bedding on Reddit: I analyzed 70+ Reddit threads to find the best bed sheets
October 15, 2025 -

Update: Updated the list with more current results can't edit the image here but you can see it: here on Project page

I scraped comments from 70+ posts where people asked “what’s the best bed sheets?” (plus some big home and bedroom rec threads), then ran the whole pile of thousands of comments through an LLM pipeline to see which brands consistently get love vs. mixed reviews. Goal wasn’t just “most mentioned,” but also “most positively talked about.”

Method in a nutshell:
– Scraped 70+ “best bed sheets?” threads & home gear megathreads
– Ran GPT-5 + Gemini 2.5 to extract product names and classify sentiment
– Scoring = ~70% positive vs. negative differential + ~30% positive/total ratio
– Merged name variants so duplicates didn’t inflate scores (e.g., “Brooklinen Luxe Core,” “Brooklinen Sheets” → one entry) + some other nerdy sentiment tweaks that I won't bore you with

Would love your feedback! any sheet brands you think are overrated, underrated, or surprisingly good for the price?

r/Bedding on Reddit: I can't find black ultra deep (19") king sheets - Giza / Supima / Lenzing Tencel / Modal / Bamboo Lyocell
October 17, 2022 -

I just bought the Intellibed Midnight and Tempur Pedic Ergo Extend Smart Base and now I'm looking for sheets.

I'm getting lost with all the different types of sheet, that are out there, but I'm guessing that these are my best option(s) -

  • Giza

  • Supima

  • Modal

  • Lenzing Tencel

  • Bamboo Lyocell

I don't know what my best option is, I just want something soft, breathable, and won't make me sweat my ass off, in the Miami Night.

Another thing that I'm having a big PITA finding, are any of these sheets in BLACK, with ULTRA DEEP pockets; my mattress is 17", so I need a 19" deep pocket.

I see that My Pillow makes a 100% Giza sheet, are they any good? But a problem there is, they don't make anything in black, it seems, and their fitted sheets are only 16", IIRC, so I'm SOL anyways, I guess.

Any help would be great 👍

r/Bedding on Reddit: My thoughts on Sferra Finna and Giza 45 Percale
March 26, 2024 -

I shopped around for luxury brand sheets last year and I had a lot of hesitation and went back and forth on buying them, so I thought I'd share my experience for those thinking of purchasing these expensive sheets.

I ended up purchasing both Sferra Finna and Sferra Giza 45 percale. The Sferra Finna were disappointing. While they are very comfortable, I did not find them much more comfortable than my Egyptian cotton sets from L.L Bean (although I've had some major quality control issues with LL Bean that make me wary of ever buying them again). I definitely do not think they are worth 3x the price.

However, after being skeptical of other reviews, I have to say that the Giza 45 sheets are on a different level and by far the most comfortable sheets I've ever had. They are silky smooth while still being very breathable. They are so comfortable, any other sheets I sleep with, including the Finnas, are noticeably less comfortable. I ended up buying another set, because they're just that good.

For those who can afford the $1000+ price tag, I definitely recommend the Giza 45s. However, I still think that my Egyptian cotton sheets from LL Bean are very comfortable and for those looking for something less expensive I would recommend them over the Sferra Finna's just because of the price alone.

I'm new to learning about bedding, and have decided to buy some new percale cotton sheets after reading about them on here. I've heard about a few good places to buy them, like The Company Store and Red Land Cotton. Any thoughts on these companies or any other recommendations? Also, what thread count should I be looking for? I've read mixed things on that

June 21, 2025 -

I recently purchased Parachute percale and brushed cotton sheet sets (percale for warmer weather, and brushed cotton for colder weather). They're fine, but I'm not in love with them. Are there any better quality percale and brushed cotton sheet sets? My max. price point is around $500 for a King set (sheet, fitted sheet, and pillow cases).

I know that lots of people love the $1500+ SFERRA Giza 45 for percale, but I'm not ready to shell out that much for a sheet set yet.

So what are the best sheets? : r/Bedding
September 16, 2025 - Cuddledown’s Featherweight batiste is basically a dupe for Sferra’s Giza 45 percale. I have both and they feel strikingly similar. Cuddledown batiste, while still not cheap, is a fraction of the Giza 45 price. No experience with Frette Classic, but Sferra Celeste is very meh in my experience. If you want nice luxury sheets and have the money, nothing below Finna is worth buying IMHO.

11 Best Percale Sheets of 2025 - Reviewed
February 28, 2025 - They’re the softest percale fabric we’ve ever tested. They also have a crisp, airy feel reminiscent of bedding in a 5-star hotel. (The brand provides linens for many luxury hotels, and we’re not surprised—again, the price.) But what makes these sheets worth close to $2,500 for a single fitted sheet, single flat sheet, and two pillowcases? They’re crafted in Italy from high-end “Giza 45” Egyptian cotton, which the brand says is grown in a small designated area near the Nile delta and hand-harvested to preserve the fibers.

What is the thread count on your Giza cotton sheets?
For really high counts, like 1000, ... of sheets, you wouldn't be shopping My Pillow. A 400 count of 100% Giza will be almost equal to 500 count 100% Pima cotton and far better than a "1000 count" of 10% Giza and 90% Egyptian....
