Depends on how much you're spending at the store for some spots. I'd call around. There's wiggle room for most shops like Heavner, even if they say the price is firm. Just like with car buying, be willing to walk away if the price isn't right.

Personally I went in with a max budget for the furniture + delivery. I ended up getting enough off of one of the couches to still budget for the regular delivery fee. In fact, unless you live near the store, the gas/insurance/etc for a U-Haul usually will add up to be what delivery would cost anyway.

You could also hire someone from Dolly if it's a small amount of furniture.
