In my experience, no in octane. this is due that the models have to be loaded into the gpu for rendering, as in game engines these are triangulated before rendering in octane is similar to this, this is how it works, there is not much to do about it. a workaround is to set your wireframe render pass in a cpu render engine (if you are in c4d is easy with the standard engine and/or the sketch and toon effect) a different workaround is to create a different Uv set with all polygons covering the entire uv area (again in c4d is max uv function) and then map a material with only a square stroke in the border of the image. Your choice of render engine really does not matter. Especially with Arch viz. The reason Vray is popular for viz is not because its a better choice than something like Arnold, octane, redshift or even physical. It's almost entirely because the lions share of professional ArchViz done with 3DS Max. and thats not because 3DS Max is better for viz than C4D or Maya or Blender.... It's almost entirely because in North America (and even in england and other places), the lions share of architecture work is done in Revit. and Revit and Max are very tightly integrated. and Revit's popularity isnt even because its better than Vectorworks, ArchiCAD or any other piece of BIM software.... It's almost entirely because Architects are Brand-loyal to Autodesk because of AutoCAD. And AutoCAD was the first. True story. source: I was an Architect. So yeah - that's why vray is popular for viz. It's not better built, it doesn't have any particular advantages over anything else. You said you're using octane and redshift: what about octane or redshift do you not like for viz right now? Why are you really thinking of switching? Octane and redshift are pretty amazing engines and either can get you the results just as good as anything from Vray. You can even get as good results from Physical if you're willing to wait for it. Vray RT is a great GPU option, and it's about 10-20x faster than CPU. The biggest problem with Octane is development had been very sketchy, just check out their forums. Seems like people are always upset with them. I use Maya and it seems like they haven't even figured out how to integrate it properly yet. I bought a license but decided to stick with Vray. Vray is a mature option that is well tested with few bugs, and when problem DO arise they are very responsive. Most of the newer options like redshift, Octane, corona etc can get good results but there's more to the story then just fast or pretty renders. If you are just a hobbyist, maybe these problems are less of an issue. More on reddit.com
