I was told by an an employee that the best prices on TVs will be a the few days after the Super Bowl when people return TVs they bought…how do I ask to see those or will they be put up in the store somewhere?

I believe those are usually returned to the manufacturer for credit. The manufacturer then resells them as refurbished or gives them to customers under warranty claims.

what i've heard (hear in fact, from a self proclaimed employee) is that the do not sell returns. they are sent back to mfg. or to liquidators. the only 'open box' items they sell are demos. so, check out Ebay in a couple of weeks :)

I am considering a 65" OLED as my next purchase and have extensively researched Samsung vs. LG OLED options. I am seeing open box options at Best Buy in my area for a G4 ("Good" condition / $1700) and a C4 ("Good" condition / $1260) but also see a Samsung S95D ("Fair" condition / $1740) and S90D ("Good" condition / $1100).
Best Buy has an Excellent, Good, and Fair grade for Open Box tvs. Has anyone purchased an open box at Good or Fair and had it work out? Do they let you power it up at the store to check everything? I am leaning C4 with S90D right behind, but the G4 & S95D seem like good deals given the savings from full price brand new.

Bought a 55" "open box" B series 3 years ago. When I got home, I noticed it had several thousand hours of use and a demo USB drive in one of the HDMI ports. (It was clearly a demo unit). I got the product replacement plan though, and have us d it for 3 years. Some pixels are dying along the borders so I initiated a replacement claim and got my $1300 back in BB credit. Got to keep the TV too (which looks great- I had to use solid color screens to locate the dead pixels, they aren't noticeable in use.

I bought an open box 65” C4, rated excellent. I had to ask for a remote, but it only had 104 hours on it and so far so good. Moral of the story, confirm it has the pieces you need before you leave the store.
