Space as in like galaxies and such
What is the opposite of space?
What is the opposite of a liminal space, and what are some examples?
I don’t have an answer but I came here with the same question.
If I had the authority, which I don’t, I’d name the opposite of a liminal space, a “manifest space.” And some examples would be places that feel familiar, established, and comfortable as opposed to transitional and “off,” and where your identity feels robust and fixed. These spaces will vary person to person, but might be your home (if you feel comfortable there), your childhood home or a favorite relative’s house, school or work when there are lots of people around, hanging out with your best friends, being in a crowd where you are having fun and feeling comfortable (such as a state fair). A lot of contexts where you don’t feel alone (even if you are physically alone) - you sense or feel the actual presence of humanity around you - and you feel comfortable, would probably count as manifest spaces. And yes they could be empty.
It’s worth considering if such “manifest spaces” would feel “familiar” because you have been there before and remember them well, or purely because you enjoy and feel comfortable and established there, or if both should count.
