September 14, 2013Ubisoft Downgrading Origins on PC instead of fixing it. Now it looks and performs worse.
Usually downgrading is supposed to mean the trailers and pre-release videos were misleading and the developers weren't able to fulfill their promises, but this doesn't seem like that?
The game definitely released with better performance and better graphics before, did it not? This sounds like a mistake which will be patched soon, rather than a sketchy company move.

I am curious, because I recently made the move from Xbox to PC and I recently repurchased the Mass Effect and Dragon Age Series' on Steam and to play them it says I need Origin, I am just curious if it's a launcher, or another store front like Steam or Epic or anything like that. Also, is it even worth me getting? Or should I just forget it and soak up the cost of those games and accept I wasted the money? Personally I am not terribly keen on installing an EA system like that on my computer, but I will if I have too.
I just want to make an informed decision. So hopefully you all can help me.

Imagine if they had done this before Mass Effect Legendary Edition had come out. They'd have lost half their PC sales. What a disaster.
