Dartmouth's new media storage solution. Record, live stream, host, share and search videos with an all-in-one video platform. This document describes how to create, upload and share a new recording in Panopto.

Panopto is a service for creating and hosting videos. The videos may come from Zoom recordings, classroom lecture capture, screen capture, or other video creation tools. Videos can be shared publicly, with an entire class, or specific people within Dartmouth.

We strongly recommend option A, and it is what’s described below. Open one of these supported browsers: Chrome, Firefox, or Windows Edge. Go to https://dartmouth.hosted.panopto.com/ and sign in with your Dartmouth netID and password.

Faculty can create a Video Assignment (as a submission type) for students via Panopto. This guide from Panopto describes how to create the assignment as a text entry assignment for students (so they can then use the RCE integration in the text editor to submit the assignment).
