I have the mini messenger and I'd say the Timbuk2 bag which a laptop sleeve is most like it. Maybe a camera bag with removable sleeve. I bought a New With Tags one last year on Poshmark, you might have luck there too. It's an okay bag, I like it because it's small but not too small.

I just got a Cotopaxi Taal and it works for me. The colors that are available is the biggest issue. They are all the “Del Dia” patchwork color scheme. If they made solid colors I bet their sales would triple. I got mine on Poshmark for $20. They make a 10 liter Camaya model that weighs just 5oz. Same issues with colors and it has a drawstring top closure. I’ve been experimenting in this area a lot. My favorite messenger/crossbody is a 12 liter Patagonia Mini Messenger. It has the organization features I like and an outside water bottle pocket. But it’s not packable. I use it as my “personal” bag and day bag, so packability isn’t an issue for me. There are some that are marketed as totes that have shoulder straps. The REI Stuff Travel Tote fits your criteria and the shoulder strap can be swapped out for something wider/padded. https://www.rei.com/product/137642 . Patagonia made a Lightweight Travel Courier that had lots of features. I didn’t care for the shoulder strap for other than a couple pounds. Used ones can still be found on eBay and Poshmark. Manhattan Portage makes a bunch of very simple crossbody bags like the DJ bag. It has a simple enough structure that it can pack fairly flat. It is made of Cordura and has better shape than the packable totes. The medium DJ bag weighs about a pound. Watch the size and weight on shoulder/crossbody bags in general. They are good for a few pounds for all day use. Any more than that is backpack time. I do like a small messenger for urban travel. They are more secure and quick to access a far batter for a camera bag. I found myself carrying my day backpack on one shoulder in crowds and mass transit and decided that I might as well have a crossbody that was maximized for that style of carry. More on reddit.com

The laptop compartment area has organizational pockets that can store charges and other accessories. I am worried that these items, combined with a fully packaged bag, may damage the laptop from the presssure.
For those that own this bag, do you have any concerns for these types of items pressing up too much against the laptop itself?

The organization pockets in the MLC mini push back and take up space in the min compartment. I am able to fit a small speaker(Tribit storm box micro 2 for size) in one of the mesh compartments and it really just pushes into the min compartment of the pack. There is no bendy shape on the back panel from the laptop being pushed outwards. If you don’t plan to pack it to the rim, you’ll be fine. I carry a 13 inch MacBook.
