You can either call Oregon DMV's main number at 503-945-5000 or send them an email for a driver related question. https://www.oregon.gov/odot/dmv/pages/contact_us.aspx If you email them, make sure to give your full name / address / date of birth so they can look you up in their system (if you call, you can just provide the info over the phone ofc). If CA DMV gave you the Oregon customer number, that helps a ton (if they didn't give it to you, you may or may not need to contact CA to get that number from CA DMV so you can give it to OR DMV). You'll be asking for the 'reinstatement requirements' from Oregon DMV (CA can't see those; they just see that there is a hold from Oregon, and until Oregon removes that hold from the national system (aka the National Driver Registry/NDR Problem Driver Pointer System/PDPS), CA won't be able to renew or issue you a replacement license). You will need to clear things up with the court, and you will need to pay OR DMV a $75 reinstatement fee to get that hold lifted. Depending on how much information OR DMV was given, you might be able to pay the reinstatement fee online using DMV2U (see 'pay reinstatement fee' on this page: https://dmv2u.oregon.gov/eServices/_/ ). Select 'I don't have a SSN', if you can't get into that system with your current SSN (OR might not have it on file, since the docs they received from the court probably didn't have it listed). If you can't get into that system, you'd have to pay old-school, by mailing a check or money order (list that customer number or your name and dob on the memo line) to Oregon DMV in Salem, or anyone can walk into any Oregon DMV field office and pay that fee over the counter for you. Oregon DMV will likely give you the court and the case number (docket number) that you will need to contact to clear up your hold. You will contact the court in OR to pay your fines/fees. The court will send a notice to OR DMV that you've taken care of the issue - DMV will post it to your record within about 2 days of receiving the information from the court. If you've already paid your reinstatement fee and it's on the record, your hold will be lifted as soon as the court clearance is entered (or possibly overnight, and visible to CA DMV the next day). If the court clearance comes first, then your hold won't be lifted until OR gets that reinstatement fee processed. If you are able to sign into DMV2U, you'll be able to check your status regularly; when it shows 'eligible' (not 'suspended' or 'eligible to reinstate'), you should be good to go. As an aside, in many states, if your driver license (technically, 'driving privilege') is suspended in one state, it is considered suspended in all. So, if you are pulled over in California, your experience will depend on the jurisdiction and the officer. Sometimes, the officer will say 'hey, your taillight is out, and oh, by the way, you're suspended in Oregon, you might want to get that cleared up' and other times the experience may be 'oh, you're suspended in Oregon, I'm impounding your car and here's a ticket for driving while suspended'. It says right there why. Your registration was suspended because you did not have insurance for x amount of time. Could be a mistake so verify Monday. If it's correct, you need to resubmit proof of insurance and pay a reinstatement fee of 14$. More on reddit.com
