I’ve started using the PayPal debit card for “groceries”, and it’s everything I wanted. Consistently getting 5% back at Costco, Meijer, some random small Asian Grocery store, etc
I saw another category option on it, “Apparel”. Anyone using it for this and if so where are places they like to take it?

It’s seriously overpowered. I use it at Costco and Walmart, both in-store and online. Instant cash back and up to $1000/mo. I keep my grocery budget in their HYSA 4% and just move it over when I go shopping. Sad day when it gets nerfed.

Most of the time I use the grocery category too but since my Freedom card covered that for Q1 and Discover for Q2 I've set my PayPal debit to Clothing / Apparel. So far I've been successful getting 5% at Fanatics and Marshalls/Homegoods/TJ Maxx.
Opinions on PayPal Debit Card
It’s worked great but keep in mind that you have to keep it loaded. I use my bank debit card for that because it’s instant but is limited to $500 a day. If I use a bank transfer it takes several days but not limited to $500/day. I’m not a fan of the app though. I’m in it once, maybe twice, a month and I always have trouble remembering where things are that I need to get to. More on reddit.com

Plain and simple, what are your opinions on the card? Any stories about issues you’ve had or some good feedback if that’s the case?
PayPal has always seemed sketchy to me but having a debit card with the cash back option of up to 5% in one of the categories is pretty intriguing.
Most likely will use it for apparel if groceries (Walmart, Costco, and Aldi’s) aren’t accepted.

I have tried numerous times to load and setup auto-reload for the card from my Fidelity CMA debit card. I've confirmed there's no issue on the Fidelity side and the card hasb een confirmed by PP. However, every single time I try to do this, I get a "something went wrong" error. PP can only ever say this is a "automatic security measure" taken by their "system," and that it should resolve itself with time. It's been at least a week. Way too much hassle for a debit card, so I've just been using my Custom Cash.
