UK freelancers: Paypal personal account OK for receiving payments?
Any way to have a PayPal business account as a non-resident?
Paypal has restricted my business account due to "violation" using their Pay in 3 button. Need recommendations for alternative payment system
Paypal account limited, asking for business proof, not a business
Over 2.5k makes you a business account. In order to satisfy anti-money laundering laws in the EU, you have to satisfy PayPal that you are legit. I am guessing you are Irish, it will cost you about โฌ20 to register as a business online and you will receive a registration number. If you don't want to report your additional income, you should probably deal in cash.
More on reddit.comDoes PayPal require one to have a business account to receive payments for freelance services, like proofreading, or a personal account would still be suitable? I didn't find any clear info about this on their website.
Hi, I own a legitimate UK based eCommerce dropshipping store and would like to have a PayPal payment available for my customers. After setting up my PayPal business account, PayPal blocks my money and asks for bank account verification and my address in the Uk.
We operate the company using Wise (Transferwise) and it works well but it is not accepted as a legitimate bank for PayPal. As a non-UK-resident I cannot have a regular HSBC/Lloyds/Barclays etc account because of no proof of address (utility bill, etc).
Question:
Is there a way to have a PayPal business account without having residency in the country of operating the business?
Alternatively: is there any payment processor that could be accepting our customers online payments?
I have been using Paypal for 15 years with no issue. We were offering Payment plans to our clients via Instalments over 4 months maximum. Since Paypal UK was established, it looks like it is becoming more and more difficult to use their system.
First they replaced the Instalment buttons with Subscription ones. One nearly needs to be an engineer to navigate through all the setup but I thought I had got it right...until today when they blocked my account (I can receive money but not withdraw) on the grounds that allowing PAY IN 3 on my website, using THEIR buttons is in "violation of their agreement".
I called them and expecting a return call. Meanwhile I was asked to remove any mention of Pay in 3 or Instalments from my website. The only remaining way is to send electronic invoices to those who want to pay in several instalments.
I can't deal with these constant changes from the Paypal, Google and so on...
So can anyone recommend an alternative to Paypal in the UK? I also use Stripe but they do not offer a spread payment facility.
Thank you for your advice
