I'm creating a PBI report for my company that is less about graphs and more about certain visuals. I would like my company logo to be in the background and about 90% transparent. Ive inserted the image, put to the back layer, but I don't see any options for it's opacity. If I make it the canvas background, I can make it transparent but then it's not lined up where I need it to be. Can anyone help me with this?

Can you change the opacity in photoshop first before ingesting it onto the dashboard?

You can use it as a background. You can select if you want the picture to be zoomed in, fill, or fit in the page. This should probably help you out. I think it is set to ‘zoom’ where you want it to be ‘fit’. If this does not get you going, put your company logo in a PowerPoint dia. Right in the middle of the screen, just like where you want it. Add some transparency. Then, save the dia as a .svg file. Go to power bi and use this .svg file as the canvas background. The YouTube account ‘How to Power BI’ has a video on it

Instead of a KPI card I'd like to use a table visual to represent the percentage. However, I am unable to hide the column heading appropriately. How would I go about fixing this?

I personally would not use a Table visual for this, but if you have to: You can't set the column heading to a transparent colour in Power BI Desktop itself. However, if you save as a PBIP, you can locate the visual.json file corresponding to the table visual ( PBI Explorer or other tools may be useful for this) and manually change the "color" properties within the "columnHeaders" property to a transparent hex code, such as #FFFFFF00 I tried this and it appeared to work in Power BI Desktop at least. However, a KPI card would allow you to remove the title - why do you need to use a table visual? If you don’t want to use a KPI card, you could use a text box with a dynamic value that relates to the KPI you want to show - just click the value button then describe the measure or value you need in the search bar.

Let's my dashboard has 2 categories, category A has 10 charts and category B has 5 KPIs. When I select category B on the drop-down slicer, I want only 5 charts to show instead of 10 from category A. Instead of bookmarks, is there a way to make these visuals appear/disappear?

Yes. Just create a measure with returns "#ffffff00" (for 100% transparent) and use in Fx option of background color. 00 in the end is like the rgba transparency

I recently started studying Power BI, and I had trouble managing the cards and their colors because I couldn't make the background completely transparent. After turning Power BI upside down, I found where the problem is:

> Select your Card > Format your Visual > Visual > Multiple Card Layout > Background (Disable)

It seems that the Card has three (and not two) backgrounds, and the one I mentioned above is the main one. After disabling the three backgrounds, you'll have a completely transparent card.

Location of the other two Backgrounds:

> Select Your Card > Format your Visual > Visual > Cards > Background (Disable)

> Select Your Card > Format your Visual > General > Effects > Background (Disable)

Hope this helps!

If you it habe one series you can use conditional formating and in your color measure you can use transparency codes. Adding 00 at the end of your hex code will make the color transparent (e.g. #FF454500) FF would be completely opaque and 77 50% transparent
