r/OfficeChairs on Reddit: 2024-2025 Top chair picks! (broken down by Height and $$$)
August 1, 2024 -

Hey all, Ahnestly here! I review chairs on YouTube and after collecting comments from my community mixed w/ my own personal opinion, I create an annual ultimate chair buying guide video for every budget and height (currently has a 99.3% like ratio, which is insane!). The mods have allowed me to link the video below, but it is NOT mandatory to watch. I'll list out the chairs first and link will be at the bottom for anyone who cares to watch that.

Preliminary notes: People wonder why companies don't make chairs for really short or really tall people. I wish I could show you guys my video's analytics...the vast majority of time watched occurs in the average height section. These companies are out here to make a profit, and sometimes that means targeting the majority, not the minority. Please keep that in mind as you will see a lot of overlap with these chairs.

r/Frugal on Reddit: Has anybody found a good comfortable budget office chair for working from home (6-8hrs/day)?
January 29, 2022 -

I recently took a new job which is fully remote. I have a pretty good setup, except for the chair which is obviously an important consideration since I'll be sitting at my workstation for most of the day. I generally try to avoid some used furniture for sanitary (or just ocd) reasons, but good office chairs seem to be pretty pricey.

Does anybody have any suggestions for a good comfortable chair in the sub-200$ range? Should I up my budget to get a better value in the long run? Something I can be healthy and comfortable in all day is an absolute must. Features like tilt setting, high back, head rest etc.. would be nice but at the moment my budget is the primary concern.

UPDATE: Tons of good suggestions here guys, working my way through them.. thanks!!

Lately I've been spending a lot of time on my chair and my back is starting to feel it. So I was wondering if there are any office chair around 200€ that are actually worth it. Or should I keep using cheap ones until I can afford a higher quality one.

r/pcmasterrace on Reddit: Any Recommendations for a Super Comfortable Ergonomic Office/Gaming Chair
July 23, 2025 -

Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a new chair, either a gaming chair or an ergonomic office chair. I sit for over 8 hours daily for remote work and evening gaming sessions.

Are there any summer sales or good chair recommendations right now?

My current chair's seat cushion and surface are worn out, causing discomfort after long sitting sessions. I've also noticed it lacks proper body support. The middle cushion pushes me forward, preventing me from sitting naturally straight against the backrest.

I'm looking for a chair, whether gaming or office style, that's comfortable and promotes good posture. I've seen many streamers using AndaSeat Kaiser 4 chairs and heard they're excellent, though they are pricier. I don't have a strict budget since I plan to use this chair for many years.

Should I consider buying new or check the secondhand market? There are so many options out there. Any reliable recommendations?

r/buildapc on Reddit: Best budget office chairs for long hours?
October 25, 2024 -

I had a Vivo office chair for a while but after a few months it started to squeak, the back support was pretty much non existent and I ended up with a stiff lower back after just a few hours of sitting.

EDIT: Ended up choosing this office chair, used it as soon as I got it built and its been fantastic!

It got to the point where the mesh back started sagging, and I felt like I was sitting in a hammock.

I’ve got a budget of around $175, maybe stretching to $225 if it’s really worth it.

I’ve been looking at Secretlab and Hbada. The Secretlab ones seem to get solid reviews for comfort, but the price is a little steep for me unless there’s a good deal out there. The Hbada chairs seem like they might be a good balance — not super cheap, but not as expensive as the big brands either.

Just wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with either of these or has other recommendations that fit the budget but still offer decent comfort and support. I sit for long hours, especially since after finishing work for the day, I often spend a few more hours gaming, so I need something that’ll keep my posture in check.

I know the general consensus is to steer clear of any chairs labelled 'gaming'.😂

Appreciate any advice

r/webdev on Reddit: What is the best ergonomic office chair for under $350?

A 300-350 dollar budget will give you more liberty to choose a comfortable office chair. There are more nice options compared to a meager 100 or 200-dollar unit.

But the ones that offer a lot of ergo features, and these must work for the chair and complement the other parts of the unit.

Best office chairs within $350 - Recommendations for Redditors

  • ⭐ SIHOO Doro C300

  • ⭐ Branch Daily Chair

  • ⭐ HON Crio

  • ⭐ Nochaus Ergo3dL

  • ⭐ Molents Office Chair

  • ⭐ La-Z-Boy Sutherland Quilted

  • ⭐ Oline ErgoPro

  • ⭐ Branch task chair

  • ⭐ Modway Jive Ribbed

Our buying guide outlines the more important factors that you should consider for your 350-dollar budget.

You may not be able to get a unit that feels sublime on your lower back, but it can be decent enough to use for more than 5 hours.

And here are some of the ergo features that you should prioritize

Seat height and depth

You now will be able to find a unit that can go high enough if you are 6 feet tall. But you also have to consider the seat depth or if the seat pan can be adjusted. Not all 300-dollar chairs that can go high enough will allow for ample clearance for those with longer legs. So you have to watch out for this.

Lumbar support

Either fixed or adjustable, you may still be able to find a unit that will be comfortable for long hours of work.

And if you need more customized back support, there are 300-dollar chairs that offer both adjustable height and depth.

Overall comfort

If the chair is made of. mesh material, make sure that it isn’t too rigid. Though you cannot expect a very intuitive mesh chair for this budget, you can’t find one that is sufficient enough, so do not settle for a very rough mesh thinking that you have no options here.

And if it’s a padded chair, the padding is not too firm. Does it offer enough support?

Unlike 200 or 100-dollar chairs where a mesh one is the safer choice, you can enjoy a padded chair and still get enough support.

Durability

It may not be an expensive chair, but you are still looking at something that can last about three to five years.

As such, you must refrain from buying ones that have more plastic parts and feel squeaky when you first sit on them.

You should also pay attention to how durable the material of the chair is including caster wheels and the backrest. You will be able to see more insights on legit reviews.

Hey everyone! I need a new office chair and could use your help finding the best one. I’ve worked from home for two years now. My current chair is a dining chair I grabbed during the pandemic, and it's wrecking my back. I'm ready to invest in the best budget office chair, but my budget is tight (that's why its budget lol)

I’m looking to spend between $150 and $300, but I could stretch to $350 if it's worth it. I know that’s low for office chairs, especially with Herman Miller and Steelcase models over a thousand. Still, I hope to find good options that won’t break the bank.

For context, I’m 5'10" and weigh 180 lbs. I spend 8-10 hours a day at my desk, working in data analysis. My main issues are lower back pain and neck strain. I slouch without proper lumbar support, and my shoulders get tense by the end of the day.

I’ve researched chairs like the IKEA Järvfjället, Staples Hyken, and HON Exposure. Has anyone tried these? I’m curious about their long-term durability. I don’t want something that falls apart after six months. I’ve also heard about checking used office furniture stores for refurbished chairs, but I’m nervous about buying used without knowing what to check.

Key features for me are adjustable lumbar support, stable armrests, and good breathability since my home office gets warm. Mesh backs seem good for airflow, but I’m open to other materials if they provide better support. Aesthetics don’t matter—I just want something that saves my spine.

If you’ve recently searched for a chair or use a budget model you love, I’d appreciate your input. Also, let me know if there are brands or models to avoid. I’ve learned that Amazon reviews can be unreliable, so I’m looking for honest opinions from everyday users. Thank you!

Is cheaping out on this one a bad idea, or do I have to go even higher?

If you're open to 2nd hand and refurb, you can get a decent chair for 6k-10k. I suggest spending at least that much for decent spine support. If you're going to spend 8 hours in a chair, you'll need it. I used to get some Steelcase Leap2 from an office furniture reseller in Binan. They're built like tanks. At one point he also had a Herman Miller Mirra 2 and an Aeron (sadly, out of my budget pa din). He also had some Haworth Zody. He's on Facebook, I can dig up his name if you're interested. Also, Officebusters usually has decent 2ndhand Japanese office chairs, though they tend to be lower than Western chairs. They had a bunch of Steelcase Think a couple years ago. Keep an eye out on FB Marketplace for office liquidations. If you want brand new, the Merryfair brand ( Malaysian?) and Chinese brand Sihoo are ok. For both brands, I would spring for the higher models as the lower end can be flimsy. Both have showcase in the city.

for 6k i got a musso knight series executive/gaming chair this recent 6.6 sale on lazada. fyi this looks more like an ofc chair than a gaming chair w/ a retro look and the build quality and comfort is superb! this thing is massive! (i'm 5'10") my son has a moderately expensive coolermaster r2 chair w/c is 2x the price and the build quality of this musso is about the same. u should check it out their offerings as the have a wide range of chairs (mostly for gaming)! personally, i was pleasantly surprised how well this is built... way above its price point! https://www.lazada.com.ph/products/i1916495104-s8164552633.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1

Hi everyone!

So I have been researching ergonomic office chairs as I am a PC gamer who has pretty bad back & hip issues. I'm at the point where I'm almost in tears when I'm done gaming at the end of the night because my chair is so uncomfortable, its time to get away from gaming chairs.

The issue I'm having is how mixed all the reviews are(and i cant tell if the websites reviews are legit or not)

Budget- Im looking to spend preferably under $300 but am possibly willing to go up to $550 if the chair is truly worth it.

Things the chair must have-

  1. Ability to lean back/recline

  2. Adjustable arm rests & height

  3. Headrest

  4. Lumbar support

Things i would like but can absolutely do without- A footrest

I was looking at the Tralt Ergo Office Chairs, Flexispot GC5, Sihoo Doro C300 Pro, Hbada E3 Pro. Reddit didnt have good reviews on the Hbada or the Sihoo. Couldnt find almost anything on Tralt or Flexispot so would love your opinions. 🌟Would also love other options with your pros and cons as well as length of time you have had your chair for!!!🌟

Thank you for your help and sorry for the long post!

Every response you're gonna get on this subreddit, if your budget is under 500, is look for used chairs that msrp over 500. And that ultimately is probably the best response. Im not sure why the ergonomic chair market is so insanely overpriced. Its like you cant get a good chair without spending an arm and a leg. But it is true that many companies order these thousand dollar chairs by the hundreds and liquidate them for nearly nothing when they go out of business. It isn't difficult to find one on facebook marketplace or office liquidation sites with some effort and patience. I just got a haworth zody (msrp 1200) for 175 bucks and only looked for like a week. But if your time and effort are limited, these are all right chairs.

As you are located in the EU I would suggest to up your budget or buy a second hand premium EU brand. Note that this sub is very US oriented. In the US Herman Miller is very popular with offices so they have a huge market of second hand office chairs. In the EU offices are not that uniform so finding a good deal for HM or Steelcase is going to be a huge effort. I would not recommend an IKEA chair but I also can't recommend chairs below €500. The Markus is a really shitty chair if you want to use it on a dally basis. What I could recommend is refurbished EU brands like Flokk (HAG), Wilkhahn, Interstuhl, Dauphin, Vitra. Those are the premium brands mostly used in EU offices. You can find these second hand and refurbished for around €200 I would also want to stress that every NEW chair within a €200 price range will be a bad investment. If you buy new chairs the warranty should be over 5 years. Ultimately 10 years or more. The warranty given by the manufacturer will tell you a lot about the build quality of the chair.

I am sure that this is a topic that has been beaten to death, but it is hard to find the right mix of posts to get one answer.

As the title says I am in the market for a new chair, and have decided on the torrent of advice to avoid gaming chairs. I currently have a SL Titan XL that is about 5-6 years old and the bottom padding has finally bottomed out. The SL chairs are great but since I bought mine they have taken the exact same chair and added 50% to the price.

I would love to get a Steelcase or a Herman Miller, but at over $1000 for most of them, its not a realistic choice for me.

I am a bigger guy (6-4 and about 260 lbs., and have a max budget of about $500 (might stretch to $600 for the right one). Anyone have some good suggestions?

Thanks for the help everyone.

**Edit: As it appears I may be going used, any brands names are welcomed...

Edit #2: Thank you all for the help, seriously. I went hunting and found a used Herman Miller that has been gone through and comes with a 1 year warranty for $411 with a long time local shop. You all really delivered

I feel like chairs are SO expensive these days and I do not want to make the mistake of buying the wrong one.

I went to a local office supply store and tried to sit in all of the chairs they had on display and they were either felt cheap and were uncomfortable for $400 or they were decently comfortable and felt well made for $600.

I just could not justify it. Are there any popular recommendations that are a little more affordable?

Thanks for any help.

r/remotework on Reddit: Most Recommended Ergonomic Office Chairs at Every Budget Range - Buying Guide for WFH forks!

This topic seems to be asked a lot recently so today i'm gonna share my tips on choosing the RIGHT chair for home office.

You can find countless reviews from long-time users on Reddit about the value of ergonomic chairs. Brands like Herman Miller or Steelcase are often mentioned due to their popularity and outstanding quality, even though they can be quite expensive. However, there are many other great alternatives that can ensure your 8-hour workday is as comfortable as possible.

Few KEY points to consider are: budget + purpose + specs + warranty

Sort these out and you'll get the right chair, TECHNICALLY...the final and best is….comfort/fit

Regardless of whether it's technically the right chair, under the 4 main subjects, it might be uncomfortable, and no one wants that. Regardless of the types, models, and brands of the chair, you need to ensure that your chair is comfortable for working. If you want to buy online, you should check the level of comfortability they are offering. The comfortability of the desk chair depends on the materials used to produce the chairs.

Budget, no point looking at a one thousand chair, when you only have $500 to spend

Purpose, no point buying a chair, when you need a stool.

Specifications, if you weight 250lbs, you don't want a chair only for 150 lbs weight limit. Next, the armrest of the working desk is a crucial part of the chair bc to concentrate on working fully, you need to set the armrest in the proper place. Adjust the height of the armrest so that the seated elbow height is parallel to the armrest. Too higher and too lower of the height of the armrest provide an uncomfortable working experience.

You should also check the height adjustability feature of the chair, I'd highly advice this.

Warranty, if you run a business, you don't want to keep buying a new chair every year, cos regulations, or whatever, you want a chair to last. It's very likely, that if a chair had a 5 year warranty, it'll last 5 years. If it only had 12 months, it might only last 14 months, and no one wants to go spending 250 every year or so…. Might as well spend 500 and get a chair that'll last 10 years (for example) especially if you can get it discounted or on a sale.

So what are the "BEST" office chair companies today?

They must be store.hermanmiller.com (Herman Miller) and steelcase.com/products/office-chairs/. These 2 are the TOP on the market but of course they're pricey. If you're willing to pay, let's go with them. (if you want a new one)
I also highly recommend buying a used one at Facebook Marketplace.

Tier 2 brands are Xchair, Haworth, Branch, HON and SIHOO. They make the best mid-range office chairs on the market today.

Best specifc office chairs models for each that are highly recommended for every budget at the moment:

- Herman Miller Aeron, Herman Miller Embody and Steelcase Gesture are high-end options $1400+.

- Iif you want to find the best choices UNDER $500, here you are:

  • Sihoo Doro C300

  • HON Ignition 2.0

  • Branch Chair Pro

  • Haworth Breck

  • Flexispot C7 Chair

- and here are top options at $300 budget on the market:

  • Colamy Kirin

  • SIHOO M18

  • Tempur-lumbar

- Steelcase Karman - Haworth Fern are really worth buying if you have $1000.

Hope this helped you!

r/BuyItForLife on Reddit: affordable office chairs, what’s your pick under $400?
October 23, 2025 -

been hunting for an affordable office chair that doesn’t wreck my posture after a few hours of work from home

I’ve gone through way too many cheap ones that either sink after a month or have zero lumbar support.

after some digging, here are a few options that look solid:

- SIHOO Doro C300: Breathable mesh, adjustable lumbar

- Autonomous ErgoChair X: Dual backrest design that follows your spine’s S-curve and PU leather cushioning

- FlexiSpot C7: Minimal look, good for small spaces

- Hbada E3: Budget-friendly, decent if you don’t sit all day, around $400

- IKEA Markus: Classic option, firm back support but not very adjustable

right now, I’m leaning towards the ErgoChair X mainly because of the early bird pricing and the design looks pretty sleek and functional. But since it’s a newer model, I’m a bit hesitant. Has anyone here tried it yet? Always be here to hear your feedback before I pull the trigger
