I experienced a similar thing when I switched from 5600x to 5800x (not 3d one). When I started PC with 5800x and loaded 5600x profile curve optimizer showed 6 cores only. When I booted into windows 6 core curve settings were the same with bios. But 7th and 8th cores were zero. When I resetted cmos 8 core curve optimizer came. And I could set the 7th and 8th core. I'm using x570 msi unify. Answer from zzzonerrr on reddit.com

r/Amd on Reddit: 5800X3D - Enabling Curve Optimizer in BIOS by loading old profile?
October 27, 2022 -

Hi!

Just got a 5800X3D and prepared everything for the PBO Curve Optimizer software workaround since the CO is not available in the BIOS for 5800X3D (link).

Coming from a 5600x (where I had set the CO manually) the BIOS did reset upon switching the CPU. And as expected there was no CO available anymore.

However after loading the previous BIOS profile of the 5600x (to get memory and fan settings back in place) the Curve Optimizer also reappeared.

For testing I applied -30 to all cores and booted in windows. It seems to work:

  • CPU-Z stress test went from 1.212V @ 4265Mhz to 1.181V @ 4440Mhz.

  • The PBO2 Tuner software also showed -30 for all cores

  • Ryzen Master doesnt show anything sadly (CO mode 'nan').

The mainboard is a Gigabyte B550 AORUS PRO (F15d). When entering the BIOS the CO still isnt there, but reappears every time I load a previous profile - even new ones saved after switching the CPU.

I didn't find any posts on this topic. Is this a known behaviour? Are there possibly any downsides in comparison to the software solution? Any other mainboards where this works?

r/overclocking on Reddit: [5800x3d] RyzenMaster Curve-Optimizer question
May 9, 2023 -

I am confused as to whether my curve optimizer offset is actually being enabled/used.

I set the co for each core in my bios (after downloading the latest bios for my msi x570 motherboard to be able to set it).

I set my offset to -30 all-cores, and ran core-cycler for 24hours. It passed.

I am suspicious that it didn't actually apply, as my cinebench r20 score remained pretty much the same, and RyzenMaster shows co disabled. However, the debug-cli app from overclock#net shows that the offsets are actually applied ( I tried changing the values in bios, and they were reflected in that app).

Can somebody please confirm that this is either working as expected, or is not being applied? Is there an app in ubuntu I can use to validate this instead of windows?

r/Amd on Reddit: Any way to enable Curve Optimizer for 5800X3D?
February 3, 2023 -

Recently experimenting with undervolting my 5800X3D. Temps are roughly 10C cooler and it clocks slightly higher all while drawing less power. I am using PBO2 Tuner at the moment, but I would love to actually set voltage offsets from my BIOS. From my understanding somehow it's locked/unavailable for the 5800X3D, but some people got it working by loading a BIOS profile for their old CPU (see this thread). Does anybody know if there's a workaround? I am running ASRock SteelLegend B450 Motherboard (P4.30). Does anybody have a fitting CPU profile I coud load to "unlock" PBO settings? Or maybe there's a new firmware version that fixed this?

r/gigabytegaming on Reddit: No Curve Optimiser for 5800X3D
July 17, 2023 -

Hey all,

So I'm running a AX370 Gaming 5 updated to latest bios version and I don't have a curve optimiser setting to undervolt my 5800X3D?

The bios version I'm using is F51h with the latest AGESA update.

I see AMD overclocking settings but there's no curve Optimiser setting?

I've uploaded a photo of my settings screen to help explain.

https://ibb.co/YcB4Qmj

Can anyone help?

Cheers

r/AMDHelp on Reddit: 5800x3D PBO Curve Optimizer Negative Offset -30 "stable" until sleep?
March 29, 2025 -

hi

I wanted to know the next step to try to get the most out of reducing temps with this method

having all core -30 seems to be 'stable' when actually using the PC

but as soon as it goes into sleep mode and is turned back on, it has a decent chance of rebooting

WHEA-Logger shows EVENT ID 18 for 2 cores (APIC ID 0, and 3)

to my understanding, the next step from here would be for me to try less 'aggressive' setting on these 2 cores listed above?

or what steps should i take to go from here?

thank you

EDIT:::

i also read something about setting like the base voltage of 'something' a little higher so that it gets enough voltage during waking up from sleep? could this be a solution too?
