Sam's is more than groceries. I go to their tire/battery center, the optical, and the cafe. I also live in a state where eggs were recently mandated to be cage-free which, combined with the bird flu outbreak, has made prices skyrocket. Just last night I bought 2 dozen eggs for $10. At the regular grocery stores near me, 1 dozen eggs are $10. So with one visit, I saved $10. Almond butter is another one - $7 at Sam's for 24 oz. The regular grocery store closest to me charges $8 for a 12 oz almond butter. Obviously different people can decide what's worth it or not but compared to what I spend per month for the membership, I find it to be a great value. More on reddit.com

If you spend a lot of money at Sam's Club, the 2% back in Sam's Cash can cover, if not exceed, the difference between a regular membership and a plus membership. Plus, I bought a plus membership on Groupon for $60 so it wasn't that much more than a regular membership. If you like avoiding crowds and don't mind getting up early, the early access hours are kind of nice.
