I have ordered same day delivery a few times now and every single time it has been delayed. Does anyone actually receive anything the same day? Why is this offered if it isn’t possible?
Last night I should have received a package and it was even marked delivered. Delivered at 6:55. I was outside grilling and I never saw any delivery vehicles. I live on a dead end so I think I would have noticed even if it was delivered to the wrong house.
I guess I’m just venting but I seriously don’t understand why services are offered that cannot be fulfilled.
So for a secind time, this meter popped up in my cart and I thought What the hey I'll add a couple more eligible items and get them later today, then after I check out and everything, all of my "eligible items" are suddenly set to be delivered for the next day or the day after. Has anyone else has this happen to them? I just don't understand why they make a big deal about promising same-day delivery then it's not same-day after check out.
If you live in Denver don't order same day or next day delivery. Four orders in the last three days none followed instructions. Three didn't even attempt to deliver. Maybe they set the flex drivers up to fail. But I'll never order same day or next day delivery again.
Anyone else notice in the past few weeks that you can’t get anything delivered same day anymore? I’m in midtown.
I’d be curious if any Amazon folks on here have the scoop. Honestly it never seemed like a tenable business model to me - the delivery people seem like they’re always having a bad day.
I’ve never had a same-day shipping item arrive on time, it’s usually severely late like 2 days. I add extra crap to my cart to get the same-day shipping so I have a book to read before work and then it gets here days later.
How do they get away with this when it’s clearly false advertising and it happens constantly?
hi! i've been at amazon since october 2022 at a delivery station in vegas, but it went very downhill over there (with the last straw being a 20 hour cap placed on flex employees, and no transfers to full time being open at my site)
i decided to file a transfer to snv1, for the 11 am - 7:30 pm shift (first choice was thurs - sun, second choice was wed - sat). if all goes well, next week could be my last week at my current site.
just wanted what's it like working at a same day delivery station before i go over there (especially if you currently work at snv1). is it more chill or more strict than the delivery stations, and what do you have to do there / how much cross training do they do? (at my current station, i only do stow, pick to buffer, and pick and stage, been cross trained once for push on the dock, but haven't done that in almost a year) how many breaks do you get too, and how does the transfer approval process work? also, even though i'm gonna be working 34 hours a week there, will i be paid like i'm working 40 since it says full time? (i know they do that for people who work three 12's at some sites)
ty on advance for any help :)
Everyday, I see someone on here saying prime is a scam now but I’ve never had an issue with a late delivery. I order, usually a few times a month, but I’ve never had one issue with delivery, that I can recall. My guess is people are more likely to complain about not getting a delivery on time, rather than post about a good experience.
Ordered a few things with Amazon Prime same-day delivery earlier today. I explicitly remember choosing the 4-8 PM delivery window for today.
Fast forward, no sign of the order, so I check the site again, and now it just casually says “arriving tomorrow”, with zero mention of any delay or change. Just straight-up rewritten history like it was always tomorrow.
Either Amazon has a sneaky bug… or they’ve figured out how to alter memories. Anyone had the same issue before?
lol what's the point of downvoting this post?
Do they have mini warehouses stocked with select items strategically located that on-call or ‘independent contractors’ deploy from? Is someone picking this up on demand? That’s a really quick response time
I just moved to the neighborhood so it’s not a huge deal long term but as I realize i’ve forgotten some stuff in the move, everything has said one day delivery so far.
Has anyone noticed that there is no same-day delivery for Amazon? The earliest delivery is Tuesday for me on basically everything. Is anyone else Amazon show this or is it just me?
Just to clarify: I have gotten same-day delivery before and several times. I have never had trouble with it. I'm shocked reading some of ur replies that y'all don't get same-day delivery. That's why I'm posting this since this is the first for me that the earliest delivery is Tuesday?
I placed an order for same day delivery and paid extra for the shipping, it was out for delivery earlier, but it didn't arrive today and now says "Now expected tomorrow". I want to request a refund for the shipping charge I paid for, but the only option is "See all updates". I tried the customer service tab but it's all useless generic stuff and it doesn't provide any info besides "your order will arrive tomorrow". I tried the chat option too, but it's all automated and I can't even text back or ask anything, I can only click "ok I'll wait" or "When it will arrive".
How the hell do I get ahold of someone in Amazon to explain the issue and request shipping charge refund? Will they at least automatically send the refund refund after it's delivered? Because this is just horrible customer service (if you can even call it that) and no real options besides the unhelpful automated BS.
I’ve been a prime member since 2009 and have never received a package Same Day. I’ve lived in different states, had gifts sent to different states… they’re always “carrier delay” and “package delayed in transit”.
Every. Single. Time.
I call. Complain. They replace the order. It shows up in 2-4 business days.
I’ve don’t this 15 times now.
Am I the only one that this happens to? Am I doing something wrong? Did I hurt their feelings along the way?
Made purchases yesterday morning and was due to arrive 8-10pm same day. At 10pm it was postponed till 7-10am today. After 11am this is all I've gotten. I cannot track it. Guess I'll wait another day. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Thought we might collect up some insights into how AMZN does this…
We all know that Amazon Prime is supposed to come with ‘one to two day shipping speed, after it ships’. Seems pretty clear….. takes a bit for them to find the item, they put it in a box and ship it a while later- takes one or two days on the road.
And we know that 98% of the time that is NOT how it works…
Sure, on occasion, I will get a UPS ‘next day saver’ shipment from across the USA. Or I will see an Amazon tracking data that shows it is shipping via air from across the country…
But MOST of the time, their algorithm is doing one of three things:
-
Item is in a local distribution hub- item ships in one day, order by midnight, they transfer it to the local logistics hub at 3AM, and by 1030 it is out for delivery.
-
Item is in a SEMI local hub- they truck it to the local hub, then it goes out the next day. Here in two days.
-
Item is far away- it is then shipped via ground transport as a bulk package (no tracking) to my local hub. It shows as not shipped, the order is just sitting- when in actual fact it WAS shipped but takes a week across the USA. Then, after a week, it magically ‘shipped’ and shows up next day.
It is my belief that amazon ‘covers up’ when items really ship… there are two time components to order fulfillment: getting it into a box and out the door AND then the actual shipment. The ‘trick’ of prime is ‘stealing’ a few days from the order processing component and using that for transporting the package- but not letting customers know, so they get their ‘two day shipping speed’
Oh, one marvel: As you are BROWSING- not once you put it in a cart, and not after you pay…but just as you are browsing, the algorithm knows all this an can know how and when they will get that item to you.
Anyway, they can still suck- but insights into how that fulfil orders can explain what we see on our ends…..
