Can you add prepaid debit cards to Samsung Pay? (Not entering as a gift card, but using the same button you would use for a normal credit card.) I ask because I have a very specific application in mind.

I want to buy a secondhand Samsung phone, but I want to test the phone first to see whether it works with Samsung Pay (I've been hearing about issues with older Samsung phones that are supposed to work).

In order to do that, I would prefer not to use my real credit card in front of the random stranger selling me the phone. So I'd like to use a fake card from privacy.com, and just manually enter those details.

Hi everyone, I've just redeemed $50 of cash back to the mastercard debit card (seems to be the only option). The issue I'm having is that I seem to have zero ways of actually getting the card number. I want to purchase something online and no luck. Any ideas how to get the card numbers? I tried the "private information" method and it shows no cards or anything in there. So I'm kind of stuck.

Given the limited number of banks that Samsung Pay supports, I thought it might be good to find out which prepaid cards work. I'm sure I'm not the only one who can't/won't change banks just for Samsung, but would be willing to set up a pre-paid card.

• Do AmEx gift cards work? what about prepaid cards, such as the AmEx Serve card?

• any other bank prepaid cards work?
