Can you use one of these mattresses on a adjustable base? I want an adjustable base, but would love the Costco return policy on a mattress. Answer from rollsandy on reddit.com

r/Mattress on Reddit: Unbiased Opinion of the Serenity by Tempur-Pedic Topper- Spoiler alert: It ends in a return!
February 5, 2024 -

I bought this topper out of desperation and thank goodness I can return it!!!

Don't buy the Serenity by Tempur-Pedic topper. It's a piece of junk, joke! It tore everywhere just laying it on a table and trying to rotate it. Then, when I saw that, I carefully grabbed it to rotate it and move it to a different location and it ripped more! Basically, it rips anytime you touch it! The cover isn't actually a cover as you'd expect for this caliber of a topper. It's a rounded-edge fitted mattress only thicker. Because the corners of the mattress are pointed it just bunches on the corners and pulls the mattress upward. It's extremely difficult to get it on as it just pulls the whole other side and it curls up due to the low density so even with two people it was a LONG struggle! As you can imagine, putting a fitted sheet or mattress cover over it was even worse. It's just a poor fit! The 3 inches are non-existent when you lay down on it or even sit on it. In, fact, if you hold it between your thumb and index finger you can completely flatten it just with your fingertips! There is no density so you touch the ground but it puffs on the sides of you so you can't get up! I actually tried stacking two which was a total fail because I REALLY couldn't move and was stuck in the middle with my body on the hard floor and total puff on the sides. I feel pretty stupid thinking that stacking two soft toppers with no supportive layer would be a good idea! lol I'm a dedicated side sleeper but in desperation, I tried laying in all positions and none of them were good. I'm 176lbs for reference, but I feel like anything but an ant would sink to the bottom! The smell is STRONG!!! Honestly, it's super overpriced for what you get. I got a cheaper one at Target in the past that was better for more than half the price of this one. I'm truly shocked that a company with such a good reputation for mattresses would create something this poor of quality and even more by the reviews that said it was great to begin with!

r/Costco on Reddit: Tempur-Pedic Serenity Cooling Memory Foam Pillow
July 9, 2024 -

I noticed this new pillow: https://www.costco.com/.product.1804267.html

However, that pillow has the exact same name and almost identical description as an older pillow: https://www.costco.com/serenity-by-tempur-pedic-cooling-memory-foam-pillow.product.4000205431.html

Despite the similar names and descriptions, the pictures look very different, with the older version having a gusset around the edge.

My 6-year old pillow is flat as a pancake, so I've been eyeing these products. Does anyone have any experience with them, and do you know what the difference is between these 2? I asked Tempur-Pedic what the difference was, but they gave me a dubious answer, saying one of them was higher than the other. The description states that both are medium support.

Update: I saw the first pillow I linked, the new one, in the warehouse today so I bought it. The first things that popped out at me were that it was pretty small, so my pillow cases and pillow protector are going to have a couple of inches of loose material on 2 sides. Also, that it was giving off a strong smell after I removed the airtight plastic wrap. Lastly, my hand sinks down further than I expected when pressing down on it. For now, it’s sitting on the couch off-gassing. Hopefully that only takes a day or so. Right now, I’m estimating a 60% chance that I’ll end up returning it.

My husband and I recently bought the Kirkland Stearns and Foster Lakeridge mattress from Costco and we like it a lot. We are both mostly side sleepers and are pretty lightweight (120 and 135 pounds). While we like the plush firmness of the mattress, we wonder if we would be more comfortable with a topper. We are looking at the Serenity by Tempur-pedic topper from Costco but the reviews are mixed and it’s been hard to make a decision. For people that have this topper, what have been your experiences?

So, I'm moving and would like to upgrade from my old memory foam mattress and there are so many options out there it's really difficult (Purple, Casper, ... even Avacado!). I believe Tempur-Pedic has a pretty great reputation -- anyone have any thoughts on this mattress? Costco has it for $1,699 (King size) and I'm very tempted to pull the trigger. Is this a bad idea? Any other recommendations in this price range?

r/Mattress on Reddit: Tempurpedic va. Mattress Factory Serenity
December 16, 2019 -

We are in the marker for a new mattress. Currently on a 15 year old pillow top.

We tested mattresses yesterday and my husband and I both loved the Tempurpedic LuxeBreeze but had major sticker shock. With that being said, we are willing to pay the price if it is that superior of a product.

Today I went to the Original Mattress Factory and the salesman basically said that the cooling technology is a bunch of BS. He said that their Serenity Line is superior to the Tempurpedic and is a fraction of the cost. I emailed the salesman at Mattress Firm to see what he thought of the Mattress Factory claim. His response was……

Unfortunately there is not a comparison. Simply because a tempurpedic is a fully adaptive material where all memory foam will conform to you it doesn’t adapt to your body. If you are looking for something similar your best bet is our Sealy Silver chill line or our beauty rest hybrid. Now the cooling technology in the tempurpedic beats all of them hands down. And designed to last 15-20 years that why there’s a larger price point

Who is right? Am I comparing apples to apples or apples to oranges?

r/Mattress on Reddit: Costco TempurPedic Serenity Contour vs TempurPedic Tempur-Neck Pillow
December 22, 2022 -

Hi guys, recently been working on my posture (shoulders hunched and forward) and trying to slouch less. Ever since I've actively started working towards it, my back and neck has been very sore. I assume that that's a good thing because different muscles are being used more. Anyway, all this neck and back pain forced me to look for pillows that promoted better posture.

After doing some basic research, I noticed some people mentioning positive results with the Tempur-Neck pillow and I figured I should give it a go. After getting the sticker shock of that pillow, I started shopping around and noticed that Costco sells a very similar pillow called the Tempurpedic Serenity Contour which just so happens to be on sale as well.

I know it's on brand for Costco to sell a manufacturer's product under a different name, so I'm wondering if these two pillows are one and the same.

Would any of you guys have experience with these pillows and perhaps any inputs?

r/Mattress on Reddit: Is Tempur Pedic Serenity at Costco the same thing as the Adapt series but $1200 cheaper?
September 30, 2023 -

When researching online, Tempur pedic has done a bang up job of making it incredibly hard to find research about their mattresses other than “it’s the best memory foam out there.”

But looking at the listed materials and descriptions, it seems these two mattresses are nearly identical? There isn’t much info about the serenity mattress but it does say “new comfort material” where the Adapt specifically calls it the new ES material that is softer on their main website.

I guess the main difference is the serenity is 10 inches and the adapt is 11 inches according to the websites.

Costco sells the serenity for under 200. The Supreme (wirecutter’s recommended topper) is 400. Both are tempurpedic, both are three inches thick.

What on earth is the difference between them?? A difference of $200+ no less. Should I just buy the cheaper topper?

r/Mattress on Reddit: Costco's tempurpedic serenity 10" review?
November 17, 2023 -

I recently purchased the serenity 10" from Costco after trying the cloud 10" at a mattress firm(both of which are a medium). I was under the impression that it is essentially the same mattress for less than half the price if not being at least very similar. I've admittedly only had it for a few days so I can't comment on the mattresses long term quality (though with costcos return policy it likely doesnt matter if it doesnt last quite as long since theyll take it back for defects years later for a full refund). My first impressions were that it was a decent bit softer than the cloud 10" though I think that's just my house being warmer than mattressfirm. I'm still fairly certain it's essentially the same mattress possibly with a last generation foam like they do for a lot of costco products. Now for me the mattress feels perfect for the first 10 to 20 minutes before my body heat transfers into the mattress causing me to sink further in. This is something I'm not surprised by because of the way tempur reacts to temperature changes but it's not something I experienced at mattress firm. I'm assuming it's a mixture of wearing thinner clothing at home and being under a blanket trapping the heat in which I didnt experience in store. So all in all I think it's a great product for someone who enjoys a softer mattress or someone lighter. I'm 5'5 at 175lbs I'm a sidesleeper but I've always been comfortable on my classic sealy posturepedic spring mattress. One of the classics with the flower print all over it. This is mainly meant to shed some light on the serenity 10" as I couldn't find much information on it before I got it though if anyone has had a similar experience and wants to share what mattress they ended up with or any advice for the search I'd grateful haha I sleep alone so lack of motion transfer doesn't really matter to.

How long does it take for a comfort option mattress to fully inflate and for the smell to dissipate? I've had issues in the past with foam items continuing to smell for months & my bed frame never stopped and it's been two years! I also bought the Tempurpedic topper at Costco because I'm between mattresses and it smells so strong. It's making me want to avoid foam altogether . How long does it take for the topper?

I have been using the Beautyrest Silver Aquacool Memory Foam Pillow for almost 6 years now. I've always got them from Walmart. This is the only pillow I have found that doesn't kill my neck and shoulders. Unfortunately it looks like they aren't made anymore and everywhere I search it says unavailable or out of stock. Almost all memory foam pillows are too high and rounded on top for me and it so frustrating to keep dropping money on pillows that I end up not being able to use within days due to pain. If anyone has any recommendations for similar pillows I would appreciate it

Avoid tempur-pedic pillows : r/Mattress
October 15, 2023 - Yeah the Serinity is their lowest quality foam, very light, and they shouldn't be calling that pillow a medium because you sink right through it. I bought the same pillow for $30 at Costco and gave it away to a friend. Their Tempur-cloud ProHi is noticably firmer. Same goes for their Serenity mattress topper, pretty low quality and way too soft.

r/Mattress on Reddit: Topper Help Please - Tempurpedic too soft
March 15, 2023 -

We recently bought a Novaform ComfortGrande. My partner likes it, but it has ended up too firm for me (115 lb side sleeper).

We bought the Serenity by Tempur-Pedic 2+1 Pillowtop Mattress Topper

Serenity by Tempur-Pedic 2+1 Pillowtop Mattress Topper | Costco

I had to return it because it caused so much pain in my lower back and sciatic nerve. I liked the 1 inch poly fill pillow top so I went and got the Hotel 2 inch poly fill pillow top at Kohls. It helped, but I still get terrible pain in my shoulder and hips.

When I sleep on our sofa I don't get the hip pain, but get back pain because its super soft.

I don't think a thick topper is going to work for me.

I was looking at the 1 inch soft sleep on latex topper. However, I used to work in a high end furniture store that sold latex beds I didn't like them. I found them very hard. I'm not sure if this would work for me or not.

I thought about getting an egg crate topper. I looked at Foam by mail, however, the ones they have are either very soft (12 ild) and the other seems firm (35 ild) rating.

I don't know what to do. I used to be able to sleep on anything with no complaints, but my aging body has become way more demanding!

Thank you for any help!!!!
