Hope this is the right sub to ask this question. Weโre thinking about updating a primary bathroom and trying to decide on a double sink vanity versus a single wide sink vanity. Would love to hear opinions. Thank you!

ETA: in a bathroom
Poll, but opinions are important!
How often do people use both sinks?
At the same time?
Are they really that important?
Does anyone know the cost difference for one vs. two if youโre doing the same size vanity (it has to be less right? less plumbing, fixtures?)
Extra unnecessary info:
We have plenty of room for 2 (72-84in), but Iโm not entirely sure itโs that useful and I think Iโd rather have the counter space or an extra linen cabinet.
My current pros: more counter space, possibly less expensive, less area to clean, less necessary accessories (soap dispenser, tooth brush area, etc), more storage space
My current cons: resale value, difficulty of changing it, possible drawbacks Iโm not thinking of
As written in the title. The old vanity had a single sink on the right. Wall to wall is 80 inches, I'm looking at 72 inch or 75 inch double sink vanities. I'm almost sure even the right sink won't line up with the drain as it is.
We've got a double sink in our master bathroom. Originally, the vanity was a huge 72" wide monster. Due to a change in layout, we're going down to a 60" wide vanity.
This is the first house we've had that's got a double sink master vanity and we're...not impressed.
For starters, we'd rather have more counter space than two sinks. We're rarely at the sink at the same time. We've lived with single sinks in other houses, and have no issues brushing our teeth together and spitting into the same sink. My wife isn't a big makeup/hair fanatic, so she isn't spending ages at the vanity anyways, and even if she did, she'd want more counter space, not another sink.
Storage is a big one too - double sink vanities give up cabinet storage for two drains and traps.
So, for our remodel, we've both decided we want a single sink vanity. Every time we tell friends and others this, the say "you have the space for two sinks, why not use it?" I dunno, because its kinda trendy and pointless? The realtor even says the same, that a double sink is a big selling feature because it says "big bathroom" - even if people don't use both sinks.
Our plumbing is already set up for a double sink, although I'd need to do a fair amount of adjustments to accommodate the 60" vanity anyways. It's not a big deal to combine things back down to a single drain and water lines.
Is a single sink (in a 60" vanity) a bad choice?
