Hey there. I a sleep number bed with sleep IQ app from an estate sale. The original owner died and I couldn’t get access to the previously used sleep IQ account. Any way to re register this? Sleep number says I need the email address associated with the order which is no longer in use I’m sure and there’s no way to get in that account.
I have the receipt paperwork and tried getting help from support when I first got the thing like a year ago but just wondering if there’s any way to get this figured out now.

I think I can provide a definitive answer, having gotten off the phone with sleep number technical support. After one year you cannot transfer the bed. That means that no new owner can be put into the sleep IQ app, and the ownership of the contract cannot be transferred without invalidating the warranty. If the mattress only has a single chamber, only one sleep profile can be associated with the bed. The short answer is if you got it from a friend, or an estate sale, or any other long-term owner, it's basically just a fancy air bed.

The Sleep Number business model is to sell its product brand new, place several intentional impediments for the owner to ever give or sell it to someone else. I verified this after several calls to company after a friend gave me hers. Even though the original owner called them and authorized the transfer, I was told by the representative that they CAN change the account to a new owner's email address, they ARE NOT ALLOWED to by the company. After the call, they deleted the account of the original owner, so she cannot even log in to give me her account credentials. I bought a new remote to use, hoping to bypass the phone "app", but the remote won't pair, and tells me to contact support. I now have a King sized bed that I cannot use. I have measured the size of the "bladders" and now plan to buy two 6-inch twin sized foam mattresses to use instead. After this experience with this company, I will NEVER purchase from this company. I will also tell ANYONE else I can to avoid them. Pure greed and horrible business practices at work.

We have a three-year-old queen I8. I loved it, and the only reason I don't use it anymore is that my boyfriend and I moved in together and got a king (360 ILE).
Is there a market for this mattress? It was $3600 new (not including tax). Is there any way to sell it, and if so, what's a fair price, or are we just stuck with trying to give it away?

I have a brand new sleep number and the off gassing/VOC from the mattress is unbearable. It's been nearly a month and I am at my wit's end.
I figure if I buy a used one, I won't have this issue because the off gassing will have had a longer time to dissipate.
I also wonder if maybe the makers of memory foam are using a new material or substance because even new mattress toppers have the same horrid off gassing like never before.
Where is a reliable place to buy and sell sleep numbers?

A sleep number is the last mattress I’d buy used. Considering it may not come with a warranty and that mattress is made of many parts; a warranty is the first thing you want to keep. But that is a tough one since from my understanding, only sleepnumber sell their own mattresses unless you went on OfferUp or something.

The thing about sleep number is that they're air mattresses, and there's really no way to disguise that feeling. Once that foam on top gets compressed, you'd mostly be getting that solid air. Sure, you might be able to pump it firmer but it's probably not going to have nearly the same support as a new one/not an air mattress

Look at why they are getting rid of it too. It could be a couple years old and they hate it (I've seen it happen). Or it could be that they had problems with it and no longer want to deal with it. (Even with warranty sleep number beds get pricy if things go wrong). Also, How much are they charging? If it's quite a bit I'd pass, personally because if I'm gonna spend 1000+ dollars I'd like to have a comfort trial. Sleep number has a Lott of moving parts, is the warranty effective, is it transferable. You don't really want a sleep number with no warranty, imo.
