November 12, 2016Help With Spanish Word Frequency Lists
I spent around 5min looking at the first list named "The 500 most frequently used Spanish words" and most of them are connectors with a lot of different translations (because of the context), and some of them were wrong like "estás" translated into "these" when the correct translation would be "you are".
For beginners, I would recommend using flashcards for teaching only basic things like nouns and verbs (maybe some pronouns as well?) because they usually have a solid meaning unlike connectors (prepositions and stuff) that rely on the context.

¡Hola!
after finishing the book called "a frequency dictionary of spanish" by Mark davies which lists 5,000 words and a few other books, I'm looking for a bigger list that doesn't need to have English translations. I've tried to search reddit and other places but couldn't find anything. I'm actually considering to flat out buy the oxford dictionary linked below and grind words from there but I do want to get the most bang for my buck, hence a frequency list.
Where can I find a good frequency list of the 10,000 most used words or other big frequency lists?

There is an online collection of various frequency lists in different languages, maybe try here, https://wortschatz.uni-leipzig.de/en/download/Spanish If you don't mind a bit of post-processing of the words.
