Hi, Currently have iPhone 11 and I'm hoping to upgrade to the 16.
Currently on magenta plan.
My phone is old but in great shape. I was surprised to see thread about getting $800 for a trade in. Figured they must have a high end phone plan or switching from another carrier.
Is my best move to trade in to T-Mobile, trade in to apple, or sell privately?

I need a new phone and currently tmobile is giving max credit for iPhone 11 if you get another iPhone.
I would prefer to wait and get 16 but I am worried that they might not give full credit to 11.
Does anyone know here or anyway to find out if iPhone 11 will get same 850 or whatever full credit when 16 comes out?
Or should I just get 15?
Crystal ball says the iPhone 11 will drop out of top tier tiv for the 16.
That being said, my crystal ball is only 100% accurate the day after the new iPhone launch.
Depending on the plan you have you might be better off in the long run trading your phone in to Apple directly.
I haven’t been following on where the best deals are and what is allowed where in the past 6 months. My son is due for a new iPhone. I was going to get him one with the new release but I’m not paying for one with the tariffs. 😂. Is there a compelling reason to go for a trade in at Apple versus T mobile store? I would like to avoid mailing the phone in. He has a 14 plus now. It is paid off.
I’ve read on here that only that as long as the front screen isn’t cracked, the phone turning on, and no water damage, then it should be good.
I want to trade in my wife’s iPhone 11 Pro Max in for the 16, but upon removing her case, I saw this.
The actual camera circles aren’t cracked or anything like that
I’ve had my base model iPhone 11 for a good 4 years now and I feel like I am overdue for an upgrade. I want to see if I can trade in my phone for a discount toward the 16 pro or pro max. I want to know what deals there are or if it’s just a flat trade in. This will also be my first time upgrading so how should I go about this?
Today I can get $830 trade on an iPhone 15 Pro. Friday I can get $400 trade on an iPhone 16 Pro
I get that are getting you to join into one of their more expensive plans, but it’ll take years for it to offset for most people unless they are grandfathered into a very low rate. Is Apple subsidizing the trade in?
I’d like to trade in my phone for the promotion where they credit you for a new iPhone. Will this be accepted? To me it doesn’t really look like the screen itself is damaged.
The big catch of this versus other carriers is that it’s only QUALIFYING devices that qualify for that full $1,000 discount such as S22 Ultras and higher or iPhone 13 Pros and higher.
Promos with this stipulation go live on all channels tomorrow.
If I trade in my Iphone XR that is in good condition and start a two line plan with t-mobile, and my fiancé trades in his iphone 11, will they give us the iphone 16s? How does it work
Sorry if this has been asked, I’ve been looking but haven’t found anything that matches my scenario. I just finished paying off my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’m looking to upgrade to the new iPhone through Apple. I’ve noticed a bunch of people say they’re choosing financing through T-Mobile when checking out on Apples website. Im on Magneta Max and notice they say a different plan than I have - Go5G or something is needed to finance through T-Mobile. I’m curious if anybody has an insight, would it be cheaper/better to upgrade my plan and finance my new phone with T-Mobile or just buy the new phone outright? Any help is appreciated. TIA!
I have been with Verizon for over 15 years. I have an iPhone 11 (regular version) that’s paid off. My monthly plan at Verizon is about $115/month, unlimited data (Internet and texting) it’s the 5G Play More Plan. Would be fine with a comparable or better plan if it’s similar cost or less.
Verizon has its own upgrade offer, but I think I’d like to switch carriers. Not sure if T-Mobile or AT&T is better. I need a new phone as well, ideally the new iPhone 17.
If I go through T-Mobile, what’s the best deal I could do? And would the new phone be carrier locked? Not sure if I should do T-Mobile or AT&T or something through Costco.
Hi folks.
I basically have a 12 Pro Max that has been in perfect condition (no cracks or imperfections) since I bought it about 3 years ago. However, I recently dropped it at the beach and it was fully submerged in salt water for about 10 minutes. The phone itself is physically fine, but the touchscreen is having trouble operating. Basically, I can’t press anything on screen unless I spam my finger on the screen multiple times, but the physical buttons on the phone still work fine.
I want to switch to a new iPhone 16 Plus. My question is: should I trade in with Apple or with T-mobile? I’ve heard that Apple trade-ins will take more value than your carrier, but honestly I am not too sure. Will either options still let me trade in for a device that’s physically in good condition, but basically lost its functionality? I was thinking of trading in person because I’ve also heard they don’t inspect as heavily as opposed to mail-in trades, but correct me if I am wrong.
Also, will they know if I fix my phone at a third party place (not Apple certified for sure, because I am overseas currently) and trade in?
Any advice will help!
Thanks!
Here’s Apple’s version of the updated trade-in offers for Go5G Plus/Next plans.

• Available at Apple Stores and Apple.com.
• Must buy through T-Mobile’s EIP and have (or switch to) a Go5G Plus/Next plan.

Do I need to buy a plan? Also will they take ANY mobile phone in ANY condition? Also, what phones are they offering? Do you get a choice? Could I just walk in and give them an old phone, and walk out with a new one? Thanks in advance!
Hi All,
Quick question — are there any trade-in deals coming up this Thanksgiving for existing T-Mobile customers? I’m on one of the Magenta plans, and I’ve got an iPhone 13 I could trade in.
Just trying to figure out if it makes more sense to stay with T-Mobile or switch to Verizon.
Thanks!
A word of advice: When upgrading, sell your device outright privately rather than sending it to T-Mobile. Too many people, including myself, have sent in devices to T-Mobile and have had them accepted; months later, T-Mobile claims they “cannot find the device” and charges back trade-in credits to the account. It’s a nightmare and seems like the latest scam to wring more customer dollars. What a disappointment.
Hello All,
I recently switched to t mobile go5g next and took traded in my current phone to receive a free 15 pro. I just recieved a notification that my t mobile had recieved my device (iPhone 12) and my trade in value was only 110 dollars.
It's been longer than 14 days since I got my new phone, so do I have any options here?
I have another device eligible for trade in if that's an option.
