My power went out while I was using my Hp Computer and when I powered it on again a message saying BIOS recovery files cannot be found or are corrupted. I tried to make a recovery key from another computer but the hp website only has an option for windows 10 but the computer with the problem was on windows 11 what can I do?

It wouldn't be possible for the BIOS to become corrupt unless you were actively performing a BIOS update or have physically damaged/touched the BIOS chip. Was it possibly just that your BIOS Settings/Memory was corrupted, which could be the result of a dead CMOS battery having lost the memory? Can you share the full message displayed? If BIOS is not able to start, attempting recovery on your Windows installation will have no effect (as you are seeking from HP). Your personal files and Windows Installation, are presumably perfectly fine, its the motherboard (specifically the BIOS) that is broken, and may require consultation/repair from HP if the BIOS is truly corrupt. (If BIOS is corrupt, you have no ability to recover the system, BIOS needs to be functional to flash BIOS. Repair will require specialized tools by HP to re-flash the chip from scratch).

Hi everyone!
I have an HP Pavillion TG01 and somehow-someway my tower was shut off during a BIOS update and it completely messed up everything???? I really wish I had more information on how this could have happened but I was asleep through the night it was supposed to be updating.
It says on the screen: “The BIOS recovery files cannot be found or the files are corrupted.”
and then it goes on about the usb method. Unfortunately I’ve tried the usb method and nothing it working like how the video tutorials show and im just completely at a loss on what to do. Unless im doing something completely wrong with it but im sure im not?
Any tips? Is she really done for or is there someway to fix this? Is it worth going to a tech repair shop maybe?

I've never heard of an unattended BIOS update. I'd disable that. How do you know the BIOS was updated?

July 19, 2023 - The only other thing I can suggest is using the third option to write the bare BIOS files to the root of the USB drive. I'm guessing from your screen shot (post 9) that the laptop has an auto-recovery mode, and it's looking for a BIOS file at the root level of the USB drive.
