Interesting that the AMD version gets the two fan cooling solution - on the Intel side, it is reserved for the P28 version (which is not really available for non-corporate customers), with the U15 model getting the weaker single fan cooling system. This is my first Thinkpad, coming from a Dell XPS 13 (9380) which was basically a lemon even after 2 warranty repairs. It's only been half a day, but I'm very happy so far! Initial impressions: Keyboard is excellent. Kudos to Lenovo for offering English keyboard layouts in Europe! One thing I miss is having dedicated media keys in the function row for Play/Pause/Previous/Next. I'll probably software remap the keys in the F9-F12 area. The Esc key is slightly mushy for my taste, but it seems intentional when compared to the Delete key, so probably not a quality control error. I did not have high hopes for the trackpad, but I actually really enjoy it! The surface is smooth, and the click sensation is satisfying. I think my fingers would get tired pressing down fully all the time, so I use tap to click. The trackpoint also works great. The fingerprint reader works quickly, no issues setting this up in Fedora. Sound is pretty good, pretty much what you'd expect for a Thinkpad. The bass could be better, but otherwise the sound is good with no distortion or rattling at maximum volume. For audio I'll usually be using bluetooth earbuds/headphones anyway. No connection issues for the 30 minutes I listened to music with my earbuds. Battery life - I haven't had enough time to test this yet. So far it seems ok. Chassis temperature and fan noise: Haven't performance tested this machine yet, so I can only report on the experience for typical web browsing from the couch. The bottom of the machine is a quite comfortable temperature after extended use. The keyboard deck is also a comfortable temperature. The fans are typically off or low speed, which you can barely hear. A soft audible noise can be heard when the fans switch on. Display: I'm quite happy with the display. Colors seem accurate, which is more important to me than the pixel density. The 400 nits display is ideal for me and I decided against an OLED screen in favor of battery life. I don't see any bloom around the edges of the screen.
