I was searching for a good music platform, at first i thought paying for Spotify Premium, but it was a bit expensive, i also thought paying for YouTube Premium, which comes with YouTube Music Premium, until i saw that Tidal here in my country is REALLY CHEAP, and when i say really cheap, i mean it. It literally costs 400 Argentinian pesos (Around 0.4 $USD). I don't really care about the high quality music, i just want a cheap streaming platform that lets me play the music while the phone is off and that's it, so when i saw how cheap it is, i thought "Ok, i'll go with Tidal then", but... maybe i'm not using it the way i should if i pay Tidal's subscription, because the main idea of it is high quality music, and i don't care about it, so maybe i'm going to use it wrong, what do you think about it? Is it worth it in my case?

Tidal has officially rolled out a new hi-res streaming plan today (April 10), combining its lossless audio and hi-res tiers into one new Individual plan for $10.99 / £10.99 / AU$12.99 per month. That's good news for hi-res music streaming fans like myself and cuts the monthly subscription price for access to Tidal's hi-res music content to the same price as Apple Music.
Tidal's HiFi and HiFi Plus subscription plans no longer exist — HiFi Plus subscribers will switch to the new plan automatically.

Many of you have received (or will receive) an email notification from TIDAL informing you of important updates to our pricing and subscriptions. As loyal listeners and advocates for our artist-first vision and what we are building, I wanted to share some context on what’s changing and why.

On April 10, 2024, we’re updating our pricing for TIDAL globally. All of our premium audio formats will be available on a single subscription tier for $10.99 USD a month that we’re simply calling TIDAL. Two other significant changes are 1/ we are making DJ integrations available as a new add-on (to the individual TIDAL subscription) for $9 USD a month, and 2/ we are retiring our Military, First Responder and free plans. Let me share some context behind these changes.

We work with rightsholders to be able to provide reliable access to their catalogue - whether you’re listening to music on our app or accessing the TIDAL catalogue via our partners, including DJ software providers. Changes in our agreements with rightsholders impact our pricing. As it relates to DJ integrations: our latest agreements give us approval for DJ integrations, but not in a way that enables us to include them in our standard subscription. As part of this add-on, however, we’re bringing back stem separation and other new features built specifically for the DJ community - we’ll have more to share in the coming weeks! With regard to our Military and First Responder plans, we do not receive sufficient discounts from rightsholders to offer these plans.

We know that these changes will be well received by some, and be difficult for others. We made these decisions guided by our goal of making TIDAL accessible to more fans, while continuing to invest in creating new, meaningful sources of income for artists around the world.

Considering switching from Spotify after the latest price increase. Got the 30-day-free trial for Tidal. So, when I go to the website, it says $10.99/month, but in billing, it says $12.99/month. And I've read a few articles from a few months ago about Tidal merging two subscriptions to one that's $10.99/month, but nothing of a price increase since then. Anybody know why it's $12.99/month instead of $10.99/month?

Now I’m told Tidal will stop service in Turkey, is it possible to use VPN to register in another country? And what is the cheapest option? Thanks

Is there a country where I can buy Tidal for less then 9,99€? If there's a way to get it cheaper, like a VPN, a server where they sell cheap family plans or something please comment.

Tidal, who now has HiFi FLAC, will soon no longer have two different tiers for hifi audio. It will all be one subscription, at a cost of $10.99, called I think just Tidal and you'll get everything that Tidal HiFi Plus has to offer. Yes, that's up to 24bit 196kHz audio, HiFi FLAC, Sony 360 reality audio, Dolby Atmos, listen and play music live with others, listen offline, ect..

My source? Tidal sent out a message through their Tidal app telling it's subscribers about the change. It said it started April 10th for me.

I'm very excited. Thanks to competition from Apple Music and Amazon Music who have subscriptions with these features at about that price or lower, it's making Tidal follow suit.

I subscribed to Tidal long ago because of how nice the App was and how it had high quality audio. They kept updating things and making them better. I tried all the others. Amazon Music, Qobuz, heck I had Zune/Xbox Music/Groove cuz it was the first streaming service I think. I really like Qobuz but they lacked all my music. Amazon app is not that good. I choose Tidal for the quality audio and nice app where it had all, or almost all my music at the time and has music videos. I kept with it Cuz it kept getting better. More music, better app, adding HiFi FLAC. 16 bit 96kHz has been FLAC I think since it's start or very long time, but higher then that was HQA. Then they added FLAC I think early 2023 or maybe 2022 to their higher teired audio. Now, I get to get all the HiFi Plus features for $10.99.

I noticed that tidal monthly payment atleast in My Area is 11€/month and for example Spotify is 12€/month. I am quite new tidal user, but I think that it wasnt like this before. Is it because of The layoffs that Have Been happening and "start up strategy" and do you thinking The prices are going to last (or do you think The whole company is going to survive?)

I've dedicated myself to the creation and maintenance of a spreadsheet that shows the differences in price, audio quality, features, and artist compensation between the 7 main music streaming services. I've been sharing it in different places online, and I got a bunch of feedback saying that Tidal was much more expensive on iOS devices than I had listed, due to Apple taking an additional cut on anything that isn't their own product.

I was going to add this to the spreadsheet, but my question is, if you sign up for the subscription on their website, and then sign in and use it on an iPhone or iPad, does it work? If so, I want to provide instructions in my spreadsheet on how to get around Apple's anti-competitive BS here. Apple Music is not cheaper than the others, no matter how much they pretend it is.

I'm considering joining Tidal but I'm confused about pricing. Everywhere seems to say that individual subscription is £10.99 per month. However when I downloaded the app on an iPad it told me it was £13.99 and on my Android phone the app told me it was £12.99. What's going on?

I saw that some websites sell hifi accounts much cheaper than tidal. Are these legit or is it all a scam?

Go the mexico route. Get a VPN, set location to Mexico and sign up. It's priced at 115 MXN which is about 6 bucks (40% discount). I know it's not as cheap as the dollar we were paying for with Tidal Argentina, but Mexico and the US are NAFTA countries so they cannot reject American credit cards like they can with Tidal Argentina. This also works with every streaming service and this will not and cannot legally change.

I’m sorry for asking such a basic question, but as we know, Tidal doesn’t make finding answers easy.

Every bit of advertisement and write up I see says the Premium is $20 a month but Apple lists it at $26. What’s the deal? Is it $20 if you pay for a whole year? If so, how do I get to that option?

In most of the posts on here about the two tiers merging on April 10th, I've noticed the cost will be $10.99 USD. **Confirmed by TIDAL here**

I live in Canada, and $10.99 USD is $14.83 in Canadian dollars, so I assumed that meant the cost of my current Hi-Fi plan would go up as I am currently playing $10.99 CAD... but then I get an email from TIDAL saying the cost will remain the same at $10.99 CAD.

Are they really charging the same dollar amount in Canada and the USA despite the conversion difference?

Currently subscribed to Spotify Duo (15.99AU$) and thinking to switch to Tidal Hifi (17.99AU$). The Tidal Hifi+ family plan jumps to 35.99AU$ which is a big increase in price, I'm aware you get MQA and Dolby Atmos (not keen on Atmos music), is the price difference worth it?
