Simple rules: Single product store: Product should be yours and 100% branded under your brand else someone will jump on the opportunity and outbid you via ads. Multi product store: This is something i recommend. Don't create a general Amazon style store rather a niche based multi product store. For example, if you are into apparel, go with themed apparels like pro second amendment designs (huge audience, spenders) or if you don't like political stuff then something like pet market. Why pet as a niche? Simple, you can divide the whole store based on pets and breeds. For example, you can create only a 'Dog' themed product store and further divided it into breeds like Chihuahua, Labrador, Husky etc. So your audience is segmented as every pet owner is passionate about the respective breed. Pet spending by Americans is billion dollars every year. Let's say you go with pet print sneakers (my favorite) then you can create 10 designs for dog lovers, based on 10 breeds and launch 10 Ad sets by keeping everything same and just use the 'breed name' in interest field of ads. This way for like $100, you can find which ad (hence design) is getting the traction (sales or engagement) and eventually you can use same design for all breeds. Scaling is also easier this way, as you just need to change country to tier 1. I see lot of posts here where people are not making any money with dropshipping, the reasons are simple, your store is not making sales because: Product is saturated: You chose something from AliX or Amazon or walmart based on some XYZ guru course or software, however on running ads, there's no traction as it has been oversold already in the market. Ad budget: If you are planning to advertise a generic product then you need bigger ad sets to feed to Facebook, as FB needs to find audience based on engagement. However if your audience segment is clear (like specific pet breed owner), its easier to sell. In case of failure of campaign, you can simply conclude that the design of product was a failure and not the audience. Know your numbers: Many times a new dropshipper does not complete the full maths of business. As you know your profit is revenue MINUS expenses. Expenses: Store monthly fees Domain name App charges Staff salary (if any) Office expenses (Rent, utility etc) Ad expenses Funds to buy product after sale Refund/replacement/chargebacks adjustment Miscellaneous (5% of all expenses excluding ads) Local taxes Corporate tax Income tax Import duty (if any) - Always clear your customer in FAQ's that they are liable to pay import duty based on company policy. CA fees (if any) So, price your product based on above factors. After paying everything above, is your profit in hand.
