I got a quote from Home Depot for a vinyl floor install and it seemed a bit high, but since this is my first home (bought in Nov 2021) and my first time getting flooring done I wanted to see if this is a fair estimate or if they are high balling me. It’s for 103 sq. ft. In my basement. Just a small area for me to make my office down there. All together for material and labor they quoted me $1100. Does that seem fair? Home Depot quoted me $4,500 to lay 730 sq/ft of sheet vinyl in my basement. The materials needed only cost about $1,700 so they wanted $2,800 for labor. I opted to just do it myself.

You only need five boxes and 103sq ft is not Much. Unless your unable to physically do it yourself I recommend doing it yourself it’s super easy to lay vinyl floors. All you need is a tape square and utility knife.

Can I get some realistic pricing to what i should be paying for grey vinyl flooring? This is only for 580sqft. As i said above some guys want to charge $3500 labor for 580sq ft vinyl floor job and then $1500-2000 dollars for the materials which sound like bs. I asked how much carpet was and he said 500 dollars less. I know some people will here will give more realistic prices, i live in detroit mi.
